I purchased this laptop from Frys just two weeks ago and I continue to be amazed by it's potential. This replaced a desktop I built about 1.5 years ago, and the performance is night and day.

As for the problem with the number pad - it's an easy fix once you download and run the BIOS update provided by Toshiba.

This is the second Toshiba product I've purchased, and I continue to be impressed by their design and innovation. If you had doubts about picking up this product, doubt no longer and buy one today!

WOW everything about this laptop is perfect

I don't understand that idiot reviewer that tried to downgrade to XP WHY in 2009??
first off this notebook comes with 6gb of memory and xp will only use half; second i have successfully installed and run win 3.1 applications on the vista 64 OS this notebook comes with. All you have to do is use the compatibility options in the properties menu sheesh!

I was surprised that it comes with a slot loaded DVD burner as Toshiba website says other

the heat vents are in the rear a big improvement in dispensing heat both the cpu and gpu never run over 55C during summer weather (I use HWMonitor pro 64 for temp readings)

the keyboard is perfect and lights up every time you type

I was a bit sceptical because for the same price you can get a Toshiba with a faster processor and only 4gb of memory so i was unsure whether the 6gb and slower cpu would give me the right performance but the p505 surpassed my expectations it even performs the same operations and at the same speed of my quad q6700 desktop

the HDMI output is an easy plug and play to any HDTV with HDMI no more hours of hassle and expensive adaptors for tv presentations

the only downside is the extra HD expansion slot will only except an ssd drive as their are not aditional HD brackets and toshiba makes none

this notebook is very heavy and at 17.4" wide your limited to accessories. i bought a Toshiba carrying case as it was the only big enough case for this notebook and the carry case is also premium quality

after a month and half of use, I'm am glad i made this purchase

This is an excellent option for those who are looking for a big screen and excellent hardware!

if you going to buy this to be a normal office user and wathc movie you can give your money for this becasue you never going to do any change to it, in other way if you are a power user dont think to buy this for a second come with home premiun and dont make the msitake to take this to vista ultimate for work with power apliaction, you going to have keyboard problem in the number pad side this never going to work i call toshiba and they say me download this download that and never solve the problem went are their ideas go out the say we are sorry becasue you change the OS we cant give you more support, for people that know im using the same core (windows vista 64 bit) they know nothing about the products their sell, so if you going for the branch is not for make any change just use like come from the factory, not only this product a bunch of then have jeyboard issue i was stun went i go to the laptop center and i see the amount of issues they have in the keyboard seccion.

I make a huge bad choice here.
