If you're looking for a reasonably priced, next generation HD TV (Ready), Toshiba's Widescreen cannot be beat. No need to go straight to HDTV, since we are a few years away from complete broadcasts in HDTV, it is nice to know that with the addition of a simple box (which will come down in price over the next few years, so why pay high prices today).My recommendation, if you do not have a DVD player...Stop reading this and go buy one now. It is the best compliment to this TV, followed by surround sound. Good Luck LAW

...The color rendering is perfect; the widescreen display is awesome. It is the input (cable channels or even dvd) that is lacking, not this set. it is also in a fairly compact package for a large rear projection. Everyone is awed by it.
