Does what it states. USB 2.0 connectivity. Gives you four ports all sprinting at 480MBPs speed. One of the ports is offset a bit for your larger connectors or for a flash drive. Has two sticky rubber pads as feet that prevent it from sliding around. It also has a connector on one side that would support an AC/DC transformer of 5V/110mA. Doesn't come with it though. All-in-all gives you four ports of guaranteed quality high speed USB 2.0 at a low cost. It is (of course) made in China but what isn't these days. It's worth the money.

I bought this because it has a 3 foot long cord, a very nice price and the number of ports I needed. I needed it for my ps3 to run behind it and connect my ps3's headset, thermaltake usb fan for the ps3 and an external hard drive to save data to from the ps3. This hub handles them all without a hitch and there's no power supply for the thing, all of the devices run off of the hub. It's small, discreet, black to match my other components and at a great price, I highly recommend this product.

Pros:It's a Toshiba product so I knew it would work just fine with my Toshiba laptop. It's small enough so that it takes up very little room in my case.
Cons:It isn't "powered" so you have to pay attention to how many and what kind of item's you plug into it.That isn't so much of a con as it is a note of interest.
Oh yeah,one final pro:You just can't beat the price/quality ratio.Buy it,you'll like it.

Five months ago, I bought it, plugged it in, attached my devices, and it's been working great ever since. I love the design. Simple and small. Works great laying horizontal (long-ways) up against a wall or flat desk item which gives a 90-degree angle for support (like a memo filer, etc.). The magnetic quality of this helps it to stay put, when placed against metal objects. Has sticky pads on bottom, but I left the plastic on, so they're just normal feet.

Never noticed it heat up. The green LED lets me know it's got current. There are no more LED's or needless distractions on it. The cable that runs to my computer is permanently attached to the hub. The color and design makes it almost disappear into the background, especially when a bunch of black usb cables are plugged into it, visually, you barely notice it's there.

I'm not pushing mad draw, I only have a Genius Tablet, Microsoft ergo keyboard, Livescribe Pulse Dock, and a micro-usb cable (used for phone {E72} and Livescribe Echo pen - charges both, when plugged in), plugged into it, at all times. All work flawlessly. I have the hub plugged directly into my Dell Vostro 1700, running Win7 Enterprise with 4gb Ram. I often unplug the hub to take my laptop on the road, leaving the hub at home. Sometimes, I unplug the micro-usb wire, for travel. Whenever I plug them all back together, it works like a dream! Almost forget I have it and that's how I like electronics like this to be!

I rely on reviews here at Amazon to help me make informed buying choices. I hope this review has helped you in the same manner. If you voted this as helpful, I Thank You! :)

Since I've enjoyed trouble free-service with a 500GB Toshiba drive for 3 years, I decided to pass up the front-running Belkin hub (in Amazon sales) and spend a couple of bucks more on this Toshiba hub. My purpose was to use it with a non-powered Omega 320GB drive in tandem with a Macbook. But when I plugged the Omega into the Toshiba hub, the drive was not seen by my Macbook. It was then that I noticed the description on the back cover of the Toshiba carton: "Runs with Windows Vista." No mention whatsoever is made of Macintosh operating systems! So I ordered the Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra Mini Hub F5U407, which was currently showing first in Amazon's sales rankings.

Unlike the Toshiba hub, the Belkin saw my non-powered Omega drive instantly. Next, I decided to try both hubs with two powered drives that stand next to an iMac desk-top machine. This time the Toshiba responded like a champion--but no more so than the Belkin which, if anything, caused the two powered drives to appear a second earlier on the iMac's screen than did the Toshiba hub. This (admittedly) small difference in speeds might be attributed to cord length. The Belkin's is only 6 inches; the Toshiba's is at least 3 feet. Also, the Toshiba is obviously bigger, weightier, more solid, with a generous adhesive-coated base for computer users who hope to keep the hub in place (good luck!) and to work with it at a distance from the keyboard.

So, perhaps it's misleading to call the Belkin the better value or the better hub, especially for PC/Windows owners seeking quality and versatility. But if you're a Mac user who tends to travel with her hubs, there's every reason NOT to travel beyond the Belkin when shopping for an inexpensive, reliable hub.

It's a USB Hub, what more can you say? Well a lot actually. When I started looking for a replacement for the USB Hub that I use with my laptop when on my desk, I wanted something reliable, nice looking, compact and cheap. I actually had a hard time finding all of those attributes in one unit until I came across this one. And it's from a well known and trusted name in consumer electronics. What more can you ask for?
