5.0 out of 5 stars Their Best? October 26, 2003
By N
Format:Audio CD
Although my roommate might not share this opinion, I think this is Hella's best work. Unlike their other albums, this 19 minute ep includes videogamish electronic work layered nicely with the typical, outstanding, guitar and drum found on their previous albums. That said, all their albums are all fantantic. If you like this, you would love the Generic/Advantage side project, inwhich classic videogame music is lovingly recreated. The Advantage post some of their mp3's at theadvantageband.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Total Wackiness on Wild Drums... July 21, 2005
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
...is what it should be named. Loved it. If you're into somewhat experimental-oriented stuff, you'll love it, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars a like it a lot April 28, 2005
Format:Audio CD
other than the first 10 seconds of the fist song, great EP. Not terribly melodious but definitely not drab in any way. I haven't heard anything like this. They play together well and no distracting lyrics is nice. Good for a quick run.

And I can also recommend at least half of their latest double album. On first listen it seems compelling and orgininal. Style's a lot different than this one but they def don't slow down. It's more chaotic this this one I guess. Don't miss these guys though, better than most "math rock" i'm sure

5.0 out of 5 stars Total worth it on Vinyl format December 21, 2012
Format:Vinyl|Verified Purchase
So damn lucky I got to buy the vinyl format.

The color of the vinyl is like dark green with black strains of hair. Kinda like a tie dye shirt.

If you still see one in stock, BUY IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing compares to Hella April 12, 2005
Format:Audio CD
Total Bugs is an amazing album, I can't quite understand how two guys are able to create such a massive wall of sound. I especially can't quite get how the drummer Zach can go so incredibly fast and erratic and still be able to keep a steady beat. These two guys are where all rock music should be headed, i just dont think the mainstream is quite ready for their frantic style just yet, which could be a good thing. Total Bugs is an amazing mesh of different styles of music as well, from noise rock to electronica, to a little bit of hip hop and to just about every other style of music thrown into a blender and put on frappe.
