I am accustomed to the regular paper manuals from Chilton's. This one is on DVD and is fairly comprehensive. Chilton's used to be so comprehensive they broke an engine down entirely. This does not do that.

Another problem is that you are limited to which vehicles you are able to view. When you first install it, it asks which vehicle you need from the list. Once you choose it, you have no other options but to see the engine for one specific car. I understand that Chilton's needs to make money, but the problem with this is that I have a Chrysler Sebring and the engine was built by Mitsubishi. There are about 5 or 6 different engines used in this car, so the engines shown in the DVD do not look like the engine in my car. They use this same engine in other Chryslers, but the DVD restricts me from viewing the others vehicles on it.

Although the Chilton's answers basic questions and shows some very basic diagrams (Highly unusual from my experience), this DVD is NOTHING like the paper manuals from the past. Hopefully Chilton's will start giving the kind of detailed descriptions, images, and diagrams as they used to. If this is the new quality of Chilton's, I feel they have sunk to the level of Haynes Manuals and will not be covering everything you need to know. I own both this Chilton's on DVD and the Haynes Manual in a physical book. It actually takes both of these books to cover everything about the car. Overall, if you need a good manual for auto repair, Chilton's beats Haynes hands down, just remember it may not show you everything in the kind of detail Chilton's is known for.
