Amazing ppv!,
This review is from: Total Nonstop Action Wrestling: Bound for Glory 2006 (DVD)
X division battle royal - 6.5/10
I enjoyed this match but it was nothing special. Some nice spots. 4 courner tag match, Team 3D vs. The Naturals Vs. The James Gang (Now VKM) vs. AMW. - 6/10 Another match that was fun to watch. It was really short but was good for the time it was given. Monsters Ball, Brother Runt vs. Raven Vs. Abyss Vs Samoa Joe - 9/10 This was an Awesome match with some amazing spots including Runt getting tossed into the crowd, Joe doing a corkscrew over the top and landing on his feet, Runt getting choke slammed from a scaffolding and Abyss's face getting sentoned into a pile of tacks. Larry Zbyszko Vs. Eric Young - 3/10 A boring filler. Larry gets fired. X Division championship, Senshi Vs. Chris Sabin - 10/10 An incredible display. These two put on a fantastic wrestling match that brought tou to your feet and reminded you why the X Division is as great as it is said to be. 8 Mile Street Fight, Christian Cage Vs. Rhino - 8/10 This was a really good match with a good story line. The camera work was terrible but there were some cool spots and a surprise ending. Tag Team title, six sides of steel match, LAX Vs. Aj Styles. 10/10 This was the rubber match between these two teams and it was superb. All four men had great chemistry and put on a bloody high risk match. AJ's cross body from the top was amzing, Match of the night along with Senshi Vs. Sabin NWA world title match, Sting Vs. Jeff Jerret - 7/10 This match had a terrible storyline but ended up being pretty good. There were some good moments but it was too predictable. A good way to end the show. Overall, this was the best PPV I have seen in a long time. Buy It!

Good But They've Had Better PPV's,
By
This review is from: Total Nonstop Action Wrestling: Bound for Glory 2006 (DVD)
Earlier in the year, I called WrestleMania 22 a good but disappointing show because some matches shouldn't have been on the card & some didn't live up to expectations set for an event you hype up as being "The Biggest Event Of The Year." Well, TNA followed that same formula with Bound For Glory because again, it was a good show but they've had better shows earlier in the year that didn't make the mistakes that they did on this show & WWE did with their WrestleMania. One big positive thing that did standout through was the PPV coming from different location than the Impact Zone with a larger crowd so you got the feeling from the start that this was a special show right off the bat. And incase anyone is wondering, the preshow is not available on this DVD so the Robert Roode match where he revealed Traci Brooks as his new manager is not on here.
X Division Gauntlet - The X division is always a good way to kick off the show and this gauntlet and it was a nice mix with the regulars who can deliever (Williams, Sonjay, Lethal, Shelley)...familiar faces (Zach Gowen & Sierlda)...and even some humor (the referee & a midget). Again a good mix of everything & a good way to start things off. Team 3D vs. AMW vs. James Gang vs. Naturals - This was one of the disappointing moments because this match was too short to showcase what TNA's tag team division is capable of. It's just not good when you have 4 of their top tag teams on the biggest show of the year & they only go around 7 mins. Monster's Ball: Abyss vs. Samoa Joe vs. Brother Runt (Spike Dudley) vs. Raven - This was a step below last years match but that doesn't mean it wasn't good as it was a good four way brawl with even Jake "The Snake" Roberts getting involved from time to time, however if your looking for the Samoa Joe "wrestling clinic" that he has a reputation for, you won't find it in this match. Eric Young vs. Larry Zbyszko - This match was put here as an excuse to get Larry off of television since he was leaving TNA. This was the equilivent of the Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell match from Mania in which it was something that shouldn't have been on the PPV & the time could have been given to another match on the card (ala the tag team match earlier). X Division Champion Senshi vs. Chris Sabin - This match made up for their disappointing match the previous month at No Surrender where the "Jackass" crap ruined the match. Sabin went hard & Senshi's unique style meshed well & put on one heck of a performance. 8 Mile Street Fight: Christian Cage vs. Rhino - Eventhough it looks stupid having two "brawls with weapons" matches on the same PPV, this match was completely different than the Monster's Ball earlier. They have the formula of starting outside the building, brawling through backstage, and making it into the ring. Christian was the cocky heel & Rhino was the hometown boy who never quit. This was a great non-stop weapons brawl. Six Sides Of Steel: Tag Team Champions Daniels & Styles vs. LAX - Third time is the charm because this is the third straight PPV in that these teams stole the show & had the match of the night. It doesn't top their previous 3 matches but it ranks right up there with their previous matches. Look out for AJ's flip dive off the top of the cage. Kurt Angle as Special Enforcer: NWA Champion Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting - This wasn't their "paint by numbers" match like they had a Hard Justice but again, it wasn't the best match to end the show on. This was the conclusion of the 10 month storyline between Sting & Jarrett. Sting had a new look & looked in the best shape in years (include before WCW closed). This match was better than you would expected it to be but didn't live up to the hype of being "the main event of the biggest show of the year." The match delievered in the end & give the fans what they wanted to see: Sting winning the title & removing Jarrett from TNA. Also somewhere on this PPV is a big brawl between Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe that continued the buildup towards their Genesis match the next month. DVD extras include a photo gallery for the PPV, footage from the Fan Interaction weekend, and Kurt Angle's TNA debut on Impact where he confronts Samoa Joe. Overall, I would say there were only 2 bad matches while the rest are above average with some that are just outstanding (the tag team cage match). This is a DVD that I would recommend but if your looking for the best available from this year, I would check into No Surrender, Hard Justice, Lockdown, Scarifice, Slammiversary, and Against All Odds first.

80-76%-perfect
75-71%-awsome 70-66%-good 65-61%-poor 60-56%-awful 1. The Kevin Nash Open Invintational X Divison Gauntlet Battle Royal- This was the right choice to kick off the show in my opinion. It was not amazing by any means but it was still a very solid fast pace opening contest. They gave this match enough time to develop at 17 minutes long. There were some but nice high flying spots but mostly just solid wrestling. Winner Alex Shely. Match Rating 7/10. 2. Four Corner Tag Tea match Team 3D vs. AMW vs. The James Gang vs. The Naturals- This was a decent match but it was deffenilty a step down from the first match of the evening. It seemed like a filler to me. They Kept it short which was nice. This match started out as a regular tag team match but it broke down into a tornado tag match. Some close near falls but team 3D got the win so that was a surprise. Winners Team 3D. Match Rating 6/10. 3. The Monster Ball Match Samoa Joe vs. Abyss vs. Runt vs. Raven- This was the first really good match of the evening. This was a step down form the first monster ball match but still very good. This was just a spot fest gallor. There were chairs, tacks, tables, and street signs. There were some nice table spots in the beginning of the match. There were some nice high flying spots including one were abyss hit a flying elbow drop off the top of the stage. There were also some really nice chair shots but the best part of the whole match was when Samoa Joe hit a Famaser like move on Abyss that sent him face first into the thumb tacks. A really good match that got your blood pumping. Winner Samoa Joe. Match Rating 8/10. 4. Loser gets Fired Match Eric Young vs. Larry Zbysko- I will say this match was terrible. I think they put this on the card so they could slow down the crowd after the monster ball match. This match was kept short at 4 minnutes long and basically only a one move and that was a shot to the back of the head by eric to larry with brass knucks. Winner Eric Young. Match Rating 1.5/10. 5. Senshi vs. Chris Sabin for the X-Division title- This was a start of really good matches to the ppv. The crowd was behind both people because it was sabins hometown. Just an okay match to start but it started to pick up. There were lots of high flying moves in this match. Including a suicide dive to the outside by sabin. Than came a set of near falls that you were almost sure were going to win the match. A rollup ended the match but a great match that got the crowd fired up and both men got a standing ovation after the match. Winner and new X-Division Champ Chris Sabin. Match Rating 8.5/10. 6. Christian Cage vs. Rhino in an 8 mile street fight- This was another solid match but I was expecting a little more form this match. It started off backstage a little boring but once they got to the ring the action picked up. There were tons of weapons including ladders, tables, street signs, and chairs. There was na sick moment were rhino gored Christian gored rhino through a table. Also rhino hit a jumping piledriver through a table on the outside. In the end Christian hit a unpreietter on a broken table to get the win. Winner Christian Cage. Match Rating 8.5/10. 7. Christopher Danials and AJ Styles vs. LAX in a sic sides of steel match for the tag team titles- This was an awesome match and a match of the year candidate. This was a great fued with both teams having one win over each other already. There was a lot of blood spilled in this match. This match started out like a regaular tag match but it soon broke down. LAX brought some sort of knife into the ring and started stabbing Danials with it. There was a nice hurricanrana form the top rope but nothing will beat the move AJ pulled off a cross body form the top of the cage on LAX. At the end one member of LAX hit a sick move on AJ for the pin. Winners and new TNA tag team champs LAX. Match Rating 9.5/10. 8. Jeff Jarret vs. Sting with special enforcer Kurt Angle for the TNA title- This was not a classic by any means but it was still a solid match. A lot of this had to do with Kurt Angle being in the match as the crowd was jacked up all night. Jarret started off the match controlling most of it was taken outside but kurt did his job and kept the match in the ring. There was a ref bump and Jarret hit sting with the gatar but it did not affect him and angle came in the ring and attacked jarret. Winner and new tna champ Sting. Match Rating 7.5/10. Well that raps up another I would give TNA bound for glory a grade of a 56.5/80 which is a 71% which means this is an awesome ppv. If u can tell me if my review was helpful or not I would appreciate that thanks for your time.
