5.0 out of 5 stars so much fun!
Stereo Total is a band with much depth. they have kitchy songs that are bubbly techno mixed with some punk edges. They sing in so many languages and the beat is so good it doesnt matter if you understand what they are saying. I found out about stereo total because they kept having their music featured in snowboarding videos and then got hooked. they are a bunch of fun and...

I bought this CD on the strength of a glowing review in the Guardian, ordered online since none of the local record shops seemed to stock it.

I bought this CD on the strength of a glowing review in the Guardian, ordered online since none of the local record shops seemed to stock it.

It may be true that Stereo Total are not the smoothest musicians in the world, but their love of American pop music shines through in the countrified twang of tracks like 'Heaven's in the back seat [of my autmobile]' and the wacky cover of Salt'n'Pepa's 'Push It', while the occasional roughness in their playing only emphasises their refreshing lack of commercialism.

There is the odd moment when you wonder quite why they take a particular approach - the punk rock attack of 'Ringo I Love You' springs to mind - but the fun pop sensibility wins through to remind you just how enjoyable pop music can be. The zany edge to their music makes 'Total Pop' a highly entertaining album, a world away from the smooth blandness of modern UK groups such as S Club 7 or [God forbid!] The Corrs.

If you're willing to experiment a little, highly recommended. Simply Red fans, save your money..

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultra-peppy pop, January 2, 2002
This review is from: Total Pop (Audio CD)
This cd gets five stars because every time I listen, I have a big wankin smile on my face, my feet twitch and my fingers snap! What a swinging popster peppy recording. Check out track 22 for a good preview - Partir du Mourir. It's a gas, like every other track. Just good goofy Eurofun, with most excellent rhythms!
