Surprisingly captivating book,
By
This review is from: Total Silence (Tango Key Mysteries) (Paperback)
I needed something to read on a recent airplane trip, and picked this up randomly. Within 30 minutes, I was hooked. This was a well written and suspenseful book that I thought really pulls the reader into the story. The author does a fantastic job letting you in the minds of the characters so that you know not just what they're doing but why they're doing it. The only reason that this received four stars rather than five is that the ending is somewhat lacking. It was very rushed and abrupt, which was a dramatic difference from the rest of the book, which was well paced and captivating.

fantastic supernatural thriller,
This review is from: Total Silence (Tango Key Mysteries) (Paperback)
She tells fortunes for a living but Mira Morales is a true psychic as is her mother and her daughter Annie. Mother and daughter are vacationing in Asheville, North Carolina with Mira's fiancé FBI Agent Shep. Mira has a cold that stuffs up her psychic senses, which leaves her helpless when a woman carrying a gun kidnaps her and shoots at her when she tries to get away. The killer, Allie Curry, also killed five people who were on the property and could have identified her.
When Shep and Anne come home, they find the dead bodies in the barn and Mira nowhere to be found. Shep immediately realizes that someone kidnapped Mira to get back at him because as a law official he made many enemies. Allie, a doctor by profession, treats Mira because she wants her healthy so she can kill her on a certain day, the one year anniversary of her brother's death. She believes this is payback for Shep arresting her brother years ago. Readers who like supernatural thrillers that are absolutely fantastic will want to read TOTAL SILENCE, a work that has Dean's ghost aiding Mira in her quest to survive his sister's deadly plan. Good old fashioned detective work, Annie and her grandmother's psychic powers and a friendly ghost are all part of the investigation in which Shep is not too proud to use all the help he can get. T.J. MacGregor has written an outstanding work starring characters that were featured in THE HANGED MAN and BLACK WATER. Harriet Klausner

T.J. MacGregor Rocks!,
By Chase von (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Total Silence (Tango Key Mysteries) (Paperback)
Recently I read The Seventh Sense by T. J. MacGregor and was so impressed with her skill in writing and her ability to pull me into her story, that I not only did a review but was determined to read more of her works.
Enter this book, Total Silence and again, I am amazed! (I didn't even know she was a woman when I read the previous book. Learned that after reading some of the reviews by others and then visiting her web site), but the fact remains I'm now looking forward to reading anything this talented author has penned! Are some of the things in her book unbelievable? I'm not really sure but the mark of a fantastic writer is someone that can make you wonder if it could be true and she takes the unbelievable and describes it in such a way, that even if it isn't real, it is definitely entertaining! Like the previous book I read, this one paints a picture of someone out for revenge and it's a wild ride just like the last one to the final conclusion! I don't want to do any spoilers or say too much so what I'll say is I thoroughly enjoyed this and also feel like I've found a new treasure! (Much the same way I felt after first reading Orwell, Anne Rice, Maya Angelou, Orson Scott Card, James Patterson, Robert James Waller, Kahlil Gibran and a few other authors that I think are on different planes literally than a lot of others. Meaning? I want to get my hands on more of T. J's works! Highly recommend this for those that enjoy works that speed right along, keep you intrigued and entertained and the biggest disappointment is when it ends. (But, looking into which one I'm going to read next by her after this review) :) Respectfully, Chase Von Author of Pink, Blue and Green Your Chance To Hear The Last Panther Speak And Dream Reachers with co-author Betty Dravis
