5.0 out of 5 stars Relief for an older, tired body - Thank YOU!!!
The exercises in Amazin's Total Strength Training for Women has allowed me to rejuvenate my body strength, tone weakened muscles in my arms and legs, and rebuild muscle loss due to my age (64). She has shown me that age is not really a factor when attempting to strengthen muscles - something I had resigned myself to upon reaching seniority. Her anatomical reproductions...

3.0 out of 5 stars I Need Strength Training Just to Carry This Book!
I just got my copy of this book today. From what I've looked at so far, it seems to be very clear, thorough and well-illustrated. My only complaint is that this book is oversized and heavy. It's not the kind of thing that will fit in my gym bag so I can refer to it while working out. I think it needs a better format.

5.0 out of 5 stars Relief for an older, tired body - Thank YOU!!!, October 11, 2005

Her anatomical reproductions are excellent and they allowed me to target areas of my body that were weak or painful with equally excellent results. I look forward to her next book on Home Training. Her techniques have inspired me to set up a gym at home and continue to excercise. Thank you, Amazin ... there is an entire world of senior age women who can benefit from your book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Equipment Oriented, November 21, 2006

This book is heavily weighted toward the use of exercise machines. If you have access to them at home or in a gym, then it's an excellent book for toning and strength building. If you don't, you'll discover that, aside from the sturdy spiral format, it has little to offer the at-home exerciser interested in using handheld, wrist, or ankle weights and the Thera Band system. If the latter is more your speed, try Joan Pagano's excellent book: "Strength Training for Women."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, November 5, 2006

A good and clear illustrated guide to exercises with both machines and free weights. Also the best methods for each body type outlined. You even get sample workouts for people at all levels of fitness and exercise development.

The book shows exercises for each body part so you can develop your own routine and it also includes a log you can copy.

The book includes routines for seniors and weight loss. There are some 300 color photos and you'll learn how to do each exercise and what to avoid that may cause injury.

A good book for anyone at any level of fitness who needs a complete, handy guide. Being spiral bound it will go with you and you can easily use it daily.

My one complaint is that some of the routines are devoted to using machines only and many people don't belong to a gym but work out at home. For them, this creates a real problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Men do it too, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Total Strength Training for Women (Spiral-bound)
Thank you Amazin Lethi for this fantastic oeuvre. Despite being of the opposite gender from the focus of the book I found it wonderfully useful for my own workout.
I have only ever wanted to tone and not bulk up so scanning the pages initally on perusal of this book I thought it would satisfy that requirement. Men's books are too driven by the desire to beef up. But this work has allowed me to achieve the right balance of exercise that my physique is more honed without having to buy oversized clothes.
My profoundest appreciations agan Amazin Lethi, the new fitness goddess.

I was surprised at the depth of and introduction to some critical exercises that even the best strength training books do not even attempt to address: things like wrist strength, pronation movements, and so forth. I felt this book really rounded out my exercises and it pictured the muscles I use so that I could build a more complete routine around all of the muscle groups I wanted to target or had been neglecting. Great book, spiral with pix, easy to take to gym.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book a must buy for anyone wanting to weight train, October 5, 2005

This review is from: Total Strength Training for Women (Spiral-bound)
With little knowledge in weight training and general fitness I found this book very useful as it is very well written. It is very easy to read with user friendly programs. I like the fact that that Amazin wrote it in such a way that it's user friendly. It's technical in instruction with full information on all body groups and different exercises but it's not written so technically that I dont understand. I like how it's spirial bound so easy to keep open as well as showing the right and wrong way to lift weights.

This book really is a must for anyone wanting to learn about weight training from stretching to how to exercise and programs and what to eat. It is very useful how Amazin gives examples of myths of weight training and explained the facts about these myths.

From all the fitness books I buy I really made this my fitness bible book as a reference in weight training, health and fitness issues.

It is also nice to have a positive strong Asian Author in the field of health and fitness.
