Excellent debut album by Dutch band,
By A Customer
This review is from: Total Touch (Audio CD)
Their debutalbum "Total Touch" has propelled Dutch band Total Touch into one of the most popular acts in the history of Dutch music. Its core members, siblings Tjeerd (keyboards, lyrics, background vocals) and Trijntje Oosterhuis (lead vocals), have managed to blend together funky, contemporary r&b with soulful ballads on an album that will appeal to a wide range of international audiences. The songs "Touch Me There" and "Somebody Else's Lover" did very well in the Dutch hitparades. One of my personal favorites is "So Curious", which features saxophone player Candy Dulfer on one of her best performances ever. "Total Touch" deserves to be heard outside of the borders of The Netherlands. Get this album; you will not regret it!

Fresh Dutch band with international sound and presentation!!,

This band, consisting of (amongst others) brother Tjeerd and sister Trijntje Oosterhuis managed to get together a fresh set of funky music with the occasionally ballad. Trijntje has a beautifull voice and dito pitch. In one word: GET THIS RECORD!! As you can see, just one word cannot describe this band's potential.

This was the first time I bought a cd with Total Touch, but I will for sure look out for any other titles. Before I bought it I have just heard one track on a dutch internetradio playing quality soul/dance music, later I also saw the video on a lifestyle channel. I have played the cd many times, and everytime I feel more relaxed and happy. It has a good mix of both slow and midtempo songs. It was not easy to find this cd on other sites, many shops do not stock the title at all - but I will for sure buy others if I would be able to find them. When I hear the songs I think about other songs from the Benelux countries which were popular in the 80s and I just love it.

I happened on this album while researching Trijntje Oosterhuis. I cannot believe I did not encounter this group in the '90's. This is excellent dance, R&B music with a couple smooth jazzy ballads accompanied by Candy Dulfer. You can tell that all three girls have serious pipes but Trijntje is out front and she has a wonderful, powerful R&B type voice. As far as I can see they made only this one CD. What a shame, but individually they are still out there. I think Berget Lewis may be doing gospel and Trijntje seems to be doing more jazz. If you are a fan of 90's dance music there is no filler on this record. Get it and move.

This artist and group are fantastic! The talent they bring to the music world is refreshing to the ears. I have not only heard their albums, but I have had the pleasure of seeing them in concert!! They are just as good live as they are on cd! Great production by the brother (Tjeerd) and great vocals by the sister (Train-cha)-Trinje. Also the band was so tight and the singers (Berget) were all great. I'm really looking forward to more music from them and I would love to see them come to the U.S. and bring that good sound to America!!!

Very good debut album,

This is a very good debut album from the Dutch group Total Touch. Trijntje Oosterhuis, the lead singer of the group, has a powerful, amazing voice that is put to excellent use. Infectious dance cuts like Touch Me There, That's What I Want, and Doo Ba La Dee just make you want to get up and DANCE. For slower songs, there's One Moment Your Mind, and For This Moment Only. For This Moment Only is a gorgeous, beautiful sad song about a dying person (not in a morbid way) and Trijntje does such a great job on it that I almost cried while listening to it. The best track on the album is Somebody Else's Lover, which is neither slow nor dance, but has a cool groove somewhere in between. Why only 4 stars, then? Well, there's a couple tracks that aren't that great, like Standing Strong Together. For the most part, however, this is a really excellent pop album. It's 19 bucks, yes, but it is really worth it, and you won't regret buying it. I definitely recommend this album.
