Totally Bamboo's Mini Largo cutting board is designed with the epicurean kitchen in mind. 16% harder than maple, Bamboo makes a superior material for cutting boards. The Mini Largo cutting board handcrafted using flattened strips of cured Bamboo bonded together with the highest rated, US laboratory tested and certified, formaldehyde-free adhesive specifically developed for food contact surfaces. Mini Largo's size, 12 x 18, makes it perfect for any carving, chopping, slicing or serving need. One side of the Mini Largo is fitted with a well to catch and prevent juices or liquids from running off of the board. No stains or paint are used to create the Mini Largo's scrumptious Honey shade. This color is created in a very specialized heating process which caramelizes the natural sugar in the wood; it is permanent and will not fade or wash out. Care: wash with warm water and mild detergent and occasionally wipe with mineral oil (Do not clean in the dishwasher).An Ecological wonder, Bamboo is a grass that grows to a harvestable height of 60 feet in 3 to 5 years. I purchased this cutting board for myself after buying one as a gift. I liked it so much, I decided to get one of my own. It is a very nice SOLID cutting board, great for leaving on the counter top. Be sure to get some oil to keep it looking nice. I didn't get the oil at first, then my board starting looking dull and lost its original beauty from washing/use. But now I use a little oil on it about once a week and it looks great. You may want to also pick up a small bamboo board for smaller jobs as this one is a bit cumbersome to wash if you just want to chop up something small.

Great quality wood. Only problem is it is HUGE! But it is my fault not paying attention to the dimension specification before purchase.
