From the original bamboo cutting board company, Totally Bamboo, this cutting board is a beautiful, functional, ecologically sound addition to any kitchen. Bamboo is 16% harder than maple, making it an excellent cutting surface. Bamboo is actually a grass that grows to a harvestable height of 60 feet in about 3 to 5 years, growing as much as 2 feet per day. It has an extensive root system that continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself. It does not require replanting, making it one of the most renewable resources known. Totally Bamboo uses 'Moso' timber bamboo which is neither a food source nor a habitat for the Giant Panda. Totally Bamboo's cutting boards are assembled with approved food-grade glue -- none of their products are made with formaldehyde-based glue. No dyes or stains are used in the manufacturing process. The pleasing designs are created by combining originally-colored bamboo with steamed bamboo, which darkens due to caramellized sugars within the wood. I've owned this bamboo cutting board for a year, and it's simply amazing. Absolutely no warping, and almost no cutting marks penetrate its extra-hard surface. Wiping it down with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep it clean (with a little soap when extra dirty). And here's a trick to keep it in place: place a piece of anti-slip shelf liner a bit smaller than the cutting board under the board. It will not move at all, no matter how much you're chopping. Enjoy!

I was pleasantly surprised. The craftmanship of this board is better than I thought it would be. I was skeptical about the "harder than maple" claim, but we've used it a lot and it still looks brand new. It's definitely a cut above our maple board.

It looks as good as the picture, but the colors are a little more muted. It measures 12" x 15" x 1.44" and weighs in at about 6.6 lbs.

Nice quality board. I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice cutting board, attractive, heavy dense wood. May slide around on you if you're cutting something big, I use a rubber shelf liner underneath to prevent sliding. I'd recommend this cutting board.
