Although this CD is Michael Buble who does have a great voice, and shows to be a big star some day, he DID NOT wish to have this CD released! This is what he had to say about it himself:

"Totally Buble" is not an album that I wanted to be released. They were songs I recorded for a film called "Totally Blonde" many years ago before I was signed to 143/Reprise Records. The decision to release it as an album was made by the film's producer, and I had no control over stopping him.

But, if you are a fan of him and enjoy whatever he puts out there, it would be a good one to add to your collection.

I was hugely disapointed with this CD. I later learned this had been released from much earlier recordings for a movie without Mr. Buble's agreement.

The songs are inferior, without any of the rich orchestrations one would expect to go along with such a beautiful voice and great talent.

I bought this CD because I am interested in ALL things Buble. His voice, as always, is wonderful. But the songs? Awful. The arrangements? Awful. The production? Awful. Not a single song on this CD is memorable.

I chalked it up to 'growing pains' as Michael developed his career, but then I heard his OLD OLD OLD stuff(when he was just starting out and he recorded his own stuff independently), and it is fabulous! So, this particular CD is a fluke, a real REAL DUD. Pass it by. The fact that it is so poor in quality made sense once I found out that this album was a compilation of songs/performances from a movie he made years ago. This was NOT an album he recorded in the studio for release - he was playing a part in a movie, singing the songs required for the movie part. So, it's really the movie soundtrack, using the popularity of his name to sell a few CDs and make a few bucks.

Do NOT fall victim to this compilation of poor music. Buy his debut album, buy his Xmas songs, or wait for his next album - but DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM!

If you are a Michael Buble fan and like his renditions of "up-tempo" swing style music of Frank Sinatra or Bobby Darin during their Capitol years, then you'll like this "new" CD. However, don't be fooled. This is NOT a new CD by Michael Buble. It seems to be session recordings for a movie soundtrack called "Totally Blond." The producers or who ever owns the rights to these songs pressed a quickie CD to cash in on his popularity. The songs are short and they could have done a better job on the sound. I happen to like the way he sings that type of music, but some of his younger fans may not. So, if you can't get enough of his voice and like straight forward "Big Band" style arraignments, then give this CD a try. If you're expecting something like his first CD, then pass this one up.

While it's true that the arrangements haven't been "Foster-ized" with the big-budget, red-carpet treatment, this CD is still a pleasant listen for any Buble fan - you'll not likely be disappointed.

SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF THAT THE OTHER REVIEWERS DID NOT SEEM TO KNOW IS THIS IS NOT A RELEASE FROM MICHAEL'S RECORD LABEL...THESE ARE OLD RECORDINGS THAT ANOTHER LABEL THREW TOGETHER TO CASH IN ON HIS NEW FOUND POPULARITY...THAT IS WHY I HAVE NOT BOUGHT IT...THESE RELEASES ARE OFTEN NOT WHAT THE ARTIST WANTED TO COME OUT BUT HAVE NO WAY OF STOPPING IT AND STUPID PEOPLE BUY IT AND BLAME THE ARTIST FOR THE MONEY THEY WASTED...SO IF YOU PURCHASE IT KEEP THAT IN MIND...IF YOU LOVE MICHAEL IT WON'T MATTER...

I somewhat agree with Michael that this cd lacked. His voice and music is always incredible, however, I felt cheated as the cd was entirely too short. It claimed to have bonus DVD footage at the end and there was nothing.

They really shouldn't have named it Totally Buble. It should have been named 'the Totally Blond Soundtrack - because thats what this cd actually is. This IS the music from the movie (it was kinda cute) but I asked a friend who is 'in the know' about this cd and she says that while Buble did star and sing in the movie Totally Blonde, the movie owners are just trying to capitalize on the sizzling hot Buble name - therefore - Totally Buble and not a Totally Blonde soundtrack.....
You can see what I mean. It's actually too bad because Buble IS a wonderful singer and movie itself was ok. They should have just sold this as a soundtrack and not made it sound like this was a Buble project - it definately was not!

Michael Buble is one of the smoothest pop singers to come along in a very long time. This CD shows him off at his best. For those of us who are sick to death of rap and rock with performers who think screaming is singing and rhythm is superfluous, this album brings back sanity to the music scene.
