5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Great Compilation from all of 2003
Ok. I know some of you guys post peak positions from the Hot 100, so I will try something different. I'm gonna post the peak position from the Rick Dees or Casey Kasem Top 40 chart, since they are both identical and both very popular. I may be a position or two off, because I am doing this from memory, so I am open to corrections.

Totally Hits 2003 was as awesome as now 14. But The predictions for totally hits 2004 vol.1 aren't so hot! It needs more rythm and beat, not clay or ruben. Predictions dont look as hot as now 15!

This CD was a great mix of all songs from 2003 even a couple current hits still rising a month after the release of this CD. Although there were a number of songs that didn't hit the Top 40 chart, many of these were in the top 20 of the Hot 100, so this CD is just great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ooh boy, I saw the listing!!! For TH 2004!, March 27, 2004
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
OK, ive heard most of those songs, and, let me tell you what I think of the songs, without number ratings or grades. Oh, ill also put the missing list, too. Here goes:

1. Jet- Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Hmm, not a surprise, cause this is a good hit, but, the 1st track?! OK. This is a good old time punk style jam.)
2. Maroon 5- Harder To Breathe (ALL RIGHT! I wanted them to be on Now, at least the found A compalation!!!)
3. Jason Mraz- You And I Both (Hmm, not much of a hit. I knew they would put this on. This song is soo depressing though. One of the worst on here, if not, THE WORST.)
4. Kelis- Milkshake (Hmm, she shouldve been on a Now, also. Who cares! Kelis found a place too!)
5. Sean Paul/Sasha- I'm Still In Love With You (OK. Not Sean Paul's best, but, still a cool song. Its very new tho. So wat? Great.)
6. Ying Yand Twins/Lil Jon- Shake It Like A Salt Shaker (Ditto to Kelis and Maroon 5. Awsome song!! One of da best!)
7. J-Kwon- Tipsy (PERFECT CHOICE!!!!! Probably the best on there! Its still new, but, who freakin cares?! J-Kwon ROCKS!!)
8. T.I.- Rubber Band Man (AWSOME!! Rap is my favorite, and, one of the best on here, too! Pretty much a surprise!)
9. Alicia Keys- You Dont Know My Name (I knew this would be on too. Definatley not Alicias best, but, still worth listening to.)
10. Christina Aguilera- The Voice Within (Ditto to Jason Mraz. But, I love Christina, and, this is much better!!)
11. Ruben Studdard- Sorry 2004 (One of tha best as well! Ruben has strong vocals! Shouldve been Track 3.)
12. Justin Timberlake- Im Lovin It (Definately the biggest surprise. Maybe it was on here, because it spawned the new McCdonalds commercials, but, still, the biggest surprise.)
13. Kelly Clarkson- The Trouble With Love Is (Sadly, not a hit from the orignal idol, but, a good ballad.)
14. Dido- White Flag (No surprise here. A good Hot AC ballad. Dido is cool.)
15. Clay Aiken- Invisible (One of the best, too. Clay is awsome on this!)
16. Simple Plan- Perfect (No surprise here, either. Simple Plan is one of da best bands around, and, this is an awsome punk-pop ballad.)
17. Michelle Branch- Breathe (Im glad they put this on, too. One of the best, Michelle does great vocals on this!!)
18. R. Kelly- Step In the Name of Love (Not much of a surprise, either. R Kelly is good on this.)
19. Joe- More and More (2nd biggest surprise. Im glad they put Joe on at least Now or Totally Hits again, tho!! Nice song! Sadly, wasnt really a hit...)
20. Missy Elliot- Pass That Dutch (Awsome! I love Missy! A perfect booty-shakin dance jam. VERY sadly, was barely a hit, again.)

The missing: Outkast, Pink, Usher, Cassidy, Twista, Kanye West

4.0 out of 5 stars "totally" hits 2003, October 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
For starters let's just say that 2003 was not a great year in music. This CD though, does gather some of the better singles of this plain music year. Here is my complete breakdown:
1. Kelly Clarkson,"Miss Independent"C+.I'm a huge fan of AMERICAN IDOL but this song needs alot of work. It feels like it is trying to be two diffrent songs at once.
2. Michelle Branch,"Are You Happy Now?"B+.Not as good as "All You Wanted" but still one of the better female rock vocal performences this year.
3. Santana feat. Alex Band,"Why Don't You And I"A+.One of the year's best rock songs(next to "Bring Me To Life"). May even be better than "Smooth".
4. Fabolous feat. Tamia,"Into You"A.Just great, hip hop with style and substance. He is one of the best rappers of 2003.
5. R.Kelly feat. Cam'ron and Big Tigger,"Snake(Remix)"C.R.Kelly has had some great songs in the past, this is not one of them. We've seen this before and "Ignition" is much better.
6. Monica,"So Gone"B.She's had better but still a nice parralell to her personal life.
7. Jason Mraz,"The Remedy(I Won't Worry)"A-.Will this guy stay around like Eric Clapton and James Taylor? Probubaly Not.But this song is highly addictive and relaxing with good lyrics.
8. Jewel,"Intuition"B+.I used to hate her but with 0304,she has struck a chord with me.I hope she keeps it up.
9. Clay Aiken,"This Is The Night"C-.This song was #1 but it still feels unfinished.
10. Ruben Studdard,"Flying Without Wings"D-.Same as #9.
11. Justin Timberlake,"Cry Me A River"B-."JT" had one of the year's best albums with some of the best singles. This one didn't do it for me, it never really comes together.
12. Sean Paul,"Like Glue"B-.This song is alright but he is highly overated.
13. Simple Plan,"Addicted"-C+.Just an average rock song, nothing more.
14. Avril Lavigne,"Sk8er Boi"A.Terrific song,I love the story she tells. She really speaks to teenagers.
15. Trapt,"Headstrong"A-.Catchy rock song,doesn't get annoying.
16. Uncle Kracker,"In A Little While"B+.Not as good as the great "Follow Me",but not bad either.
17. Christina Aguleria,"Fighter"A.A very in your face pop song, one of her best.
18. Missy Elliot,"Work It"A.I think she has just one another Grammy, great rap song, alot of meaning.
19. Blu Cantrel feat Sean Paul,"Breathe"B.Pretty good, but not the best song out there.
20. Luther Vandros,"Dance With My Father"A-.Alot of substance, very personal and meaningful.
Bottom Line:***.In closing the series almost equals the "NOWs",alot of good songs.

By
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
I would get it from the library and listen and if I like it I would buy it. It sounds good and lots of songs that I like. But not enough good songs to buy (for me). I would not say it would be bad for you, I'm just saying not good enough for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Review for: Totally Hits 2003, May 23, 2004
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
YES!!! I finally got it!! But, something bothers me tho: They shouldve released this in the summer, and, in Octobor, this shouldve been Volume 2! Whats up with that?!! Here goes tho:

1. Kelly Clarkson- Miss Independent (4/5) One of the biggest hits of '03, and, overplayed. Still pretty good tho.
2. Michelle Branch- Are You Happy Now? (5/5) Pretty overplayed also, but, I still love it. Probably Michelle's 2nd biggest hit.
3. Santana featuring Alex Band- Why Don't You And I (5/5) Sweet song, but, I like Chad Kroger's version better. Both are still awsome, tho!
4. Fabolous featuring Tamia- Into You (3/5) Mmm... I liked this song at 1st, then kinda hated it, and, grew on me again. Pretty decent song and ballad from Fabolous still, but, it got soo overplayed.
5. R. Kelly featuring Camron and Big Tigger- Snake (Remix) (1/5) Ugh! The orignal was cool, but, the remix is just AWFUL! Kelly just had to mess things up with his OWN SONG! Camron is pretty dumb on it too. I like Camron, but, he raps off key on this. Oh, I never heard the remix till I got this.
6. Monica- So Gone (4/5) Great song by Monica, but, it got quite overplayed, and, she dosnt sound that good at rapping, sadly. She does an ok rap part, but, she cant compare to actual female rappers. Sorry Monica, but, just do singing from now on.
7. Jason Mraz- The Remedy (I Won't Worry) (5/5) Phew! back to the awsome songs! Jason's debut single, which im sure everyone has heard by now. Tons better than You And I Both. Got pretty overplayed, but, I still love it.
8. Jewel- Intuition (5/5) Yeah! A great pop turn for Jewel, and, was succesful for her. I hope she keeps up the good work!
9. Clay Aiken- This Is The Night (4/5) A nice ballad from Clay, and, his debut song. Not as good as Invisible or The Way, tho.
10. Ruben Studdard- Flying Without Wings (4/5) Yeah! Ruben's debut single, and, a bit better than Clay's. A remake of this Westlife song. (You remember them, right?)
11. Justin Timberlake- Cry Me A River (5/5) Yeah, awsome song by Justin! Very oveplayed in 2003, but, it never got old. The lyrics are about Britney, as u all know. But, in the video, the girl he was with was NOT Britney. Same for Usher's Burn, the girl was NOT Chilli.
12. Sean Paul- Like Glue (4/5) Very Decent Sean Paul track, but, not as good as Get Busy or Gimmie The Light. Still awsome, tho! This got pretty overplayed, too.
13. Simple Plan- Addicted (5/5) Best Simple Plan song. Got overplayeddoorz also, but, never got old, just like JT's Cry Me A River.
14. Avril Lavigne- Sk8ter Boi (5/5) Avril! Love this track alot, but, its soo old to put it on here! It wasnt really a hit in 2003, it was in 2002! So, they shouldve added Im With You instead, cuz, that was one of the biggest hits of '03!!!
15. Trapt- Headstrong (5/5) Alternitve/Rock song of the year. Got very overplayeddoorz also, but, I surprisngly never got tired of it. Was big in 2003 & 2004. Released in late 2002, tho.
16. Uncle Kracker- In A Little While (5/5) Great song by Kracker, but, it was VERY OLD TO PUT IT ON HERE!!! It was on the charts in 2002! Shoudve added Drift Away, because that was A REAL '03 HIT! Oh, sure, its a remake, but, it was A HIT, and, not this!!! A pretty minor hit.
17. Christina Aguilera- Fighter (5/5) Great rockish song from Christina! Pretty overplayed, but, still love it. They couldve added Can't Hold Us Down tho, cuz, it was new and hotter at the time.
18. Missy Elliott- Work It (5/5) Yay! A big hit for Missy in 2002 & 2003! Could be at least one of her biggest. Probably the 2nd most overplayed song on here, but, I still love it! I love MOST of the songs that were overplayed on here! And, mostly ALL of the songs are!
19. Blu Cantrell featuring Sean Paul- Breathe (Remix) (3/5) Cool song from Blu Cantell, and, Sean Paul does good, but, sooooooo damn overplayed!! Thats pretty odd, cuz, it didnt even reach the top 30 in the CHR/POP chart!!
20. Luther Vandross- Dance With My Father (4/5) Pretty decent beautiful ballad from Luther, but, not as good as I'd Rather or Take You Out.

OK, im done! Mostly ALL the songs were overplayed! Geez lou wis! But, its probably one of the most underrated Totally Hits! Peace out!

3.0 out of 5 stars Better Than the Last Few "Now" Compilations, October 21, 2003
By
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
This is a decent collection that actually features some pretty good songs that are from the past six months. It easily beats the last few "Now" CDs as far as material.

1. Miss Independent/A-: Overplayed but how can u not love Kelly Clarkson? Catchy tune. Her whole album is great. Hit #9 on the charts.

2. Are You Happy Now/B+: Edgy pop song. Again, overplayed. Hit I believe #15 on the charts.

3. Why Don't You And I/ A: Very catchy song. Impossible not to sing along with. Curretly at #8 on the charts.

4. Into You/ C-: I can't stand these kind of songs anymore. Hit the top 10.

5. Snake/ D+: Ditto to #4.

6. So Gone/ A-: There were better songs on her album to release, but this was ok. Slow R&B song. Hit #10 on the charts.

7. The Remedy/ A+: I love this song! One of the best of the last year. Upbeat pop tune. Hit #15 on the charts.

8. Inuition/A+: Again, another upbeat pop song. Great to dance to and marked Jewel's return to the radio. Hit #20 on the charts.

9. This Is the Night/ A: Beautiful ballad. Clay is an awesome songer. Hit #1 on the charts.

10. Flying Without Wings/ D: This guy shouldn't have won American Idol. Boring song. Hit #2 on the charts.

11. Cry Me A River/ B: I can't stand Justin, but this is a good song thanks to Timbaland. Great single, annoying artist. Hit #3 on the charts.

12. Like Glue/ B+: Cool beat. Pretty decent track. Hit the top 15 on the charts.

13. Addicted/ B: Took time to grow on me, but I like it. Good pop/rock song. Not sure of its chart position.

14. S8ter Boi/ B+: This was a little old to include on here *a year!* It's a cool song, though. Hit #11 on the charts.

15. Headstrong/ D: I had never even heard this song.

16. In A Little While/ C: A minor hit, but too much like "Follow Me." It gets stuck in your head, though. Hit the top 50 on the charts.

17 Fighter/ B: Overplayed, but great vocals from Christina as always. Pop song with a rock edge. Hit #20 on the charts.

18. Work It/ A+: I don't like rap, but I love this song. Very weird and cool. Hit #2 on the charts.

19. Breathe/ C: Ok track. Not good and not bad. Never made the top 40, but stayed in the bottom 50 for several weeks.

20. Dance With My Father/ A: Beautiful ballad. Gorgeous melody.

Overall, a decent collection. Has a lot of good songs, so if you can overlook the handful of bad tracks, I recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review for TH 2003, November 29, 2004
By
This review is from: Totally Hits 2003 (Audio CD)
This, I thought, was one of the best Totally Hits albums yet.

1. Kelly Clarkson- Miss Independent A/ A very good Kelly Clarkson song, though, it was pretty overplayed. Still very good.

2. Michelle Branch- Are You Happy Now? B/One of my least fav Michelle Branch songs, but, I guess it pretty good, and most people will like it.

3. Santana featuring Alex Band- Why Don't You And I A/ I like this song, but Chad's version was much better. Oh well! Still good.

4. Fabolous featuring Tamia- Into You A+/ Very, very, very underrated, so I'm glad Totally Hits put this on. Very great track, just extremly underrated.

5. R. Kelly featuring Camron and Big Tigger- Snake (Remix) F/ This was probably the most annoying song of 2003. Who on Earth would like this song? R. Kelly sort of sucks now, though, he used to be better. Who is Big Tigger anyway?

6. Monica- So Gone C+/ Very overrated and very generic, but it's an ok song. Still doesn't derserve a very high grade though.

7. Jason Mraz- The Remedy (I Won't Worry) A/ Here's another good tune from Jason Mraz. Very good, probably the best by him.

8. Jewel- Intuition B+/ Hmm. very poppy for Jewel, but it's a good tune, but she's losing her folk image and turning into the next Britney.

9. Clay Aiken- This Is The Night B-/ Kinda boring for Clay Aiken. Invisible could have been a muuch better choice, though, it's ok.

10. Ruben Studdard- Flying Without Wings B/ A bit better than Clay. This is probably Ruben's best song to date unless there's something better on his new album I Need An Angel (haven't bought it yet).

11. Justin Timberlake- Cry Me A River C-/ Very overraed. I really didn't like this song. It's pretty boring. Slow, but bad slow.

12. Sean Paul- Like Glue B/ They should have used Get Busy (bigger hit and better song), though, it's pretty good, but doesn't compare to Get Busy.

13. Simple Plan- Addicted D/ Overplayed, overplayed, did I say overplayed?

14. Avril Lavigne- Sk8ter Boi A+/ Probably Avril's 3rd most played single up to today. Complicated was too old to be on this CD, and Don't Tell Me was much, much, much too new, so Sk8erboi was a great add-on. Very good rock song too.

15. Trapt- Headstrong A-/ This would have been better to be put on Totally Hits 2002, but it's still a great song by Trapt. Trapt's best song too.

16. Uncle Kracker- In A Little While C-/ Very old! Maybe could've been on Totally Hits 2001! It's a good song, but wwwwwwwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyy too old for this CD. They should have used Drift Away. It was a big hit!

17. Christina Aguilera- Fighter A/ Great song! Christina Aguilera's voice really shines on this song!

18. Missy Elliott- Work It A+/ I love this song! Much better than the overrated Gossip Folks! Great great great! I was scared they wouldn't put this on, but they did! Great song!

19. Blu Cantrell featuring Sean Paul- Breathe (Remix) B+/ I love Blu Cantrell's work, but this is one of her downfall songs. Though, it's pretty good, but most people hate it.

20. Luther Vandross- Dance With My Father A/ Very very sad. I almost cried the first time I heard it. It's really good, and it's a nice soft song to end the CD.

Totally Hits 2003- B+/ This is a great CD full of some good songs of 2003. I suggest you buy it if you liked 2003's music.
