One of the best CDs!,

I love my Totally Hits CD. When I first saw the ad for it on television, I HAD to go out and get it. I am an ULTIMATE music fan. I probably have over 200 CDs in my collection. Other than 3 of the songs I don't care too much for on the CD, 15 out of 18 hits isn't bad! There are so many great hits on the CD. Hits like "Smooth", "No Scrubs", and "Believe" are hard to find on singles. You can't ever find them. When that doesn't work, you have to spend extra money on CDs that you only want a few songs from. That's a total waste of time and money. With compilations like TOTALLY HITS, you can find all the songs you want on ONE CD! Thank you makers of Totally Hits. Keep up the good work! : )

Totally Hits- Review,

This cd has a nice assortment of songs. The only song that I dont consider top-notch is LFO'S Summer Girls. The mix of country, pop, R&B and alternative. I am astounded by the fact that the record company which produced this got such AWESOME songs. This cd is an incredible choice and a must buy for all pop music fans.

Like a Radio Station without Commercials,

Listening to Totally Hits (hopefully this is the first in a series) provides a listening experience similar to a Good AM Radio Station. This has great diversity, ranging from Whitney, TLC, and Santana to Kid Rock. Music needs to be heard in this fashion, as narrowcasting gives people a disjointed view of current popular music. As someone who first heard Radio in the early 70s, when you could hear Parliament after ABBA, I greatly appreciate the different types of tunes available here. I have a few nominations for the Next Volume: "Better Days (and the Bottom Drops out)-Citizen King. "Girl on TV" - LFO "Cowboy" - Kid Rock "Re-arranged" - Limp Bizkit "Shes So High" -Tal Bachman -and- "Genie in a Bottle" - Christina Aguilera! -----Bottom line....Go ahead and click, you wont be disappointed, and you might hear something you didnt expect.....

Very, Very Good!,

I think that this CD is very good. It is definetly one of the best CDs I have ever bought. Most of the songs are really good, but I gave this CD only four stars because not all are. Some of the songs that don't appeal to me are "Bawitdaba" and "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" only because I just don't like the style of music, but there are many that I do like. For example, the dance tunes "No Scrubs" or "One Week" and the slow tunes like "(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You" or "Angel of Mine". And there are songs that are just plain good like "Smooth" and "Someday"! Buy it, it totally is worth it. This album has totally good hits!

Totally Awesome,

A major competitor to the "Now" series has come along (at least in their first compilation). "Totally Hits" brings on a more adult mix of hits, including rock, pop, R & B, and a little country. There are more songs here that get played on "adult comtemporary" radio stations than on "Now", although this first CD does have three "Boy Band" songs. Lots of Grammy nominees from 1999 and one from 1998.1. No Scrubs-This was a Grammy nominee. I wasn't crazy about this song ("Waterfalls" was TLC's best), but I did like the video. (3/5) 2. Angel of Mine-Good, slow R & B tune. (4/5) 3. Someday-Sugar Ray is a fine group and this is a cool song. (4.5/5) 4. Smooth-Definitely the highlight of the album. This was released just BEFORE the song and the "Supernatural" album went to #1! Comebacks don't get any better than this, especially with all those Grammys! (5/5) 5. (God Must've Spent) A Little More Time on You-"TH" covers 'NSYNC on their RCA label. One of their better earlier hits. (4/5) 6. Believe-Another super comeback! Cher's Grammy-nominated dancehall classic. (5/5) 7. Nobody's Supposed To Be Here-So-so, unmemorable dance tune. (2.5/5) 8. Ray of Light-A little old at the time of release, but still Madonna demonstrates that she can do electronica. A 1998 Grammy nominee. (4.5/5) 9. One Week-Again, a little old, but another fun, quirky ditty from Canada's Barenaked Ladies, finally recognized by U.S. audiences. (4.5/5) 10. Jumper-An upbeat, inspirational Third Eye Blind tune. (4.5/5) 11. Heartbreak Hotel-Unfortunately, "TH" has caught Whitney in her messed-up state, especially after her disaterous marriage to Bobby Brown. Her early material was much better, and this selection is pretty dull. (2/5)12. Summer Girls-Pure bubblegum pop. (3/5) 13. When the Lights Go Out-More bubblegum. I actually thought this was by "Backstreet Boys" when I first heard this. (3.5/5) 14. Almost Doesn't Count-Okay Brandy song, better than the annoying "The Boy Is Mine". (3/5)15. You Make Me Wanna...-Good R & B from a relative unknown, now with a recent #1 hit. (4/5)16. This Kiss-"TH"'s country selection from Faith Hill, and one of the better ones. (4/5)17. Angel-Heartfelt Sarah McLachlan ballad. (4.5/5) 18. Bawitdaba-Wow! After all that adult material, we conclude with this Grammy-nominated head-banger from Kid Rock. A bit out of place, but well-done madness. (4/5)So, with a lot of Grammy nominees, "Totally Hits" comes on with a rush. Too bad they couldn't keep it up.

Completely brilliant,
This review is from: Totally Hits (Audio CD)
Going head to head with the Now series was never going to be an easy task but the Totally Hits series certainly knows this is a fight they're not going to lose and this CD shows what they mean.Taking excellent songs from average albums is what these compilations are all about and Totally Hits only picks the best of the very best songs around. From the phenomenal success of Smooth which is just some song to the slower songs from 'N Sync and LFO who prove that boy bands can actaully sing to superstars like Madonna and Cher with great up-tempo dance cuts for their latest offerings. Out of the 18 songs here there is only one i don't like and that would be the final track Bawitdaba by Kid Rock which i feel just doesn't pull my musical strings but i'm sure other people probably love this song. Kid Rock aside this is an excellent compilation - a long way better than Now 3 which was realeased at a similar time and deserves a place in everybody's cd collection it is that good a cd. |
