4.0 out of 5 stars Good Eating
I have been preparing sourdough pancakes and waffles for over 25 years using dozens of methods and techniques, but the simple recipe on pg 56 beats them all for flavor, texture, and overnite preparation! The Sour Cream Silver Dollar pancakes and the Cornmeal Blueberry Cakes are a tie for second place at our breakfast table. I would rate this little book 5 stars, but I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes, really unappealing book
This book is very small and has no pictures, so it loses points for me in that regard. I love to see at least a few pictures of what I'm going to be making when I'm flipping through a cookbook. Since it's so small, it's also very difficult to have the book open when cooking (it wants to immediately fold back closed). That being said, it does have some nice, tasty...

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy, Pancakes & Waffles, March 27, 2001

When I want to make pancakes or waffles this is the book I always reach for. The Buttermilk Pancakes, Cornmeal Blueberry Pancakes are two of our most favorite. Hungry for the long-time-ago taste of Buckwheat Pancakes, then you'll love the flavor of these. Whether you need something for breakfast or want to try a new version on a favorite snack for the children (mine adore the Peanut Butter Waffles anytime of the day), waffles are a good choice, not only because they freeze well, but they taste Great!! Proving again that good things come in small packages; this is a Totally complete Pancake and Waffle Cookbook!

5.0 out of 5 stars YUM, January 6, 2009

I love this book of pancakes and waffles. They are absolutely delicious. I would recommend the peanut butter waffles and the oatmeal pancakes. Makes a yummy sunday brunch. I combined it with a waffle iron and it made the perfect gift for my friend.

3.0 out of 5 stars The not worth the money waffle book, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Totally Pancakes and Waffles Cookbook (Totally Cookbooks) (Paperback)
Very small book for the price, no recipies for basic waffles, way too much money for this so-so book.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Cookbook Joke, January 19, 2007

I usually look at the dimensions of books I buy on line but did not on this one. Too bad. It was about 3" X 4" - like a toddler's first book. It should have been half the price - including shipping - and probably not worth the trouble anyway. The recipes weren't even worth reading. I'm sorry Amazon chose to link this book with a very good waffle maker. I based my purchase on the credibility of Amazon. I guess that was a mistake.

2.0 out of 5 stars A little small and concise for its name and price, August 15, 2009

I was looking for a book with a much larger presence than what arrived in the mail from Amazon.com
It's smaller than the size of a child's Golden Book perhaps twice as thick.
I thought a few of the recipes were good, but not enough to put in a book to call "Totally Pancakes and Waffles."
I'm a cookbook collector and you can find usually more recipes in a standard "family cooking" type cookbook than I found in this one.
If someone gave me it for a gift I'd be grateful, but would by no means pay full price for it had I saw it in-person (or in-book). That's the only humor
The book at best was quaint or cute, but not what you'd call a serious cookbook. It would appear to me that this book was put together for the sole purpose to make money. I appreciate authors that actually put work into a book, this I could have done in a few days, couple of weeks at the most.
Additionally, if it is "Totally Pancakes and Waffles" why is the last chapter dedicated to various toppings? The editors (not cooks or chefs that I can tell) who put this book together should put those recipes in a "Totally Toppings" cookbook. OK a little more humor.
While I won't throw it away or get rid of it, being a collector, I won't use it often. I'm a collector that normally uses the things I buy.
If I had seen any real effort in its production I may have given it 3-Stars, but without that I can only rate it 2. It is disheartening at times to buy cookbooks put together strictly to try to make a buck or by food editors that should not be publishing books. Also be cautious of other cookbooks that say "The Complete" or "The Bible of." I usually find these the least complete or the main source I would use on their particular topic. Take a look at the "Bible of BBQ" and you'll know what I mean.
Feel free to comment on my remarks or rating. I have a lot of years cooking, baking, and collecting cookbooks and a military career. Good reading and GB.

The Cappuccino Pancakes are to die for, worth the price alone, and there's a few more I am going to try!

The Totally Pancake and Waffles cookbook came quickly and in good shape. The recipes are super, a nice expansion to my reperatoire. There was one page with writing, but that's the risk you take with a used book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Waffles, January 20, 2008

I got this little book to go specifically with the Hamilton Beach Waffle maker thinking that it would be a good companion. Unfortunately there is only 1 basic waffle recipie and it requires yeast and time for raising. Most of the others (only 10) are rather too fancy: Carrot-Raisin, Orange Chocolate-Chip, Cheddar Bacon, Peanut Butter... I'm sure that some are valid, but I've already lost interest. On the other hand, the recipies included with the Owners Manual for the waffle maker are very doable. Can't comment on the pancake recipies but on first sight they seem more appealing.
