This CD is great! Is it as good as 2BA MASTER? No. But should you still get it? DEFINATELY!A lot of catchy songs including the new "Johto Journeys" opening theme. This theme is good, but I don't think they'll ever beat PoKéMoN World (Orange League Theme). The best song on this CD is "The Song of Jigglypuff" by far. And I'm not saying that just because Jpuff is my all time fave PoKéMoN. When I heard this song on the Tv show's KareokeMon, I knew I had to get this CD! "Lullabye" from the first movie soundtrack was a good tribute to Jpuff, but this song emphasizes what Jpuff is all about. And with Jpuff singing in the background of the chorus, it's just TOO cute."Two Perfect Girls" a song sung by Brock (Eric Stuart, also the voice of James) is just too weird. Funny, but weird. All the other tracks are good, but are too POP sounding. But they are still good listens. The addition of kareoke tracks is a great bonus. It kind of reminds me of when you purchase an import Japanese Anime CD single and you get kareoke tracks. Nice touch. If you have kids, are a kid, love PoKéMoN, or just like fun music, get this CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Giddy Kiddy Tunes!, July 4, 2002

This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
"Totally Pokémon" is the soundtrack of the TV cartoon series "Pokémon: The Johto Journies", the 3rd season of the hit series. The album contains 12 songs and 7 karaoke version of the 12 songs so everyone can sing along! 11 of the 12 songs are sung by the group Johto with various leading vocals within the group for each song. One song is sung by the person who does the voice of Brock on the show, Eric Stuart. Here's a track by track review:-

1) Pokémon Johto:- The theme song of the 3rd season contains the same spirit and energy as the theme from the previous season. But, the youthfulness of this song makes it my favourite theme song of all!

2) Pikachu ( I Choose You ):- A catchy, latin-flavoured song that makes kids want to dance along with it.

3) All We Wanna Do:- Could easily become a favourite in elementary school dances due to its heavy dance beat and catchy lyrics.

4) The Game:- Same as the previous track...

5) He Drives Me Crazy:- This is the continuation of "Misty's Song" from the 1st season soundtrack, "2.B.A. Master". A soft ballad that talks about Misty's secret crush on Ash. Probably one of my most favourite tracks in this disc. I'm actually surprised and disappointed they did not include this in the karaoke section, because I'm sure lots of girls would love to sing along with this song!

6) You And Me And Pokémon:- Pretty much the same as most of the fast songs you would find in Pokémon soundtracks!

7) Biggest Part Of My Life:- A sort of cheesy ballad... listenable the first few times, maybe.

8) Do You Really Wanna Play:- See Track 6.

9) Song Of Jigglypuff:- A surprisingly okay tune coming a crazy name! Funny and catchy to some extent!

10) Two Perfect Girls:- This is the song performed by Eric Stuart as the character Brock. A sixty's rock-swing tune that sounds a little out-of-date, but still more listenable than some children's songs of the same genre I've heard in the past!

11) Never Too Far From Home:- Another slow ballad with cheezy lyrics.

12) PokéRap GS:- In case you didn't know, GS stands for Gold Silver, as in the Gold & Silver versions of the Pokémon Gameboy Game where 100 new Pokémon are introduced. In this continuation of the original PokéRap, the names of the 100 new Pokémon are rapped out. However, the original version sounds a LOT cooler than this version.

13) - 19) Various songs' Karaoke version.

It's not the best soundtrack in the world, but since it's target audience is the under 13 sector, the music cannot be so sophisticated. But, nevertheless, this album contains many listenable tracks not only for kids, but older people too!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun CD!, October 17, 2004

Fox "The Dude" (Goldenrod City, the Pokémon World) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
An enjoyable CD that everyone can listen to, especially children. Since it's a 2001 release, it is mostly consistent with the Pop music phenomenon of that time, although not entirely Pop-oriented.

1. "Pokémon Johto": the theme song for the third season of the TV series, "The Johto Journeys." A song with a happier tone than the original "Pokémon Theme" from the first television season, and the album, "2.B.A. Master." [5 Stars]

2. "Pikachu (I Choose You)": an upbeat Latin-style song. It has a nice guitar and trumpet solo. [4 Stars]

3. "All We Wanna Do": a very nice song to dance to. Good lyrics coupled with some nice synthesizers. Slightly Pop-oriented. [4 Stars]

4. "The Game": a song that can get somewhat redundant after a while, although the chorus is a nice catchy tune. [3.4 Stars]

5. "He Drives Me Crazy": a song performed by, supposedly the character Misty, although the lead singer sounds nothing like the character. Could be considered Pop-oriented. [3.8 Stars]

6. "You and Me and Pokémon": a very nice song with good lyrics, and good singers. My personal favorite. [5 Stars]

7. "Biggest Part of My Life": definitely not my favorite here. It would be a good song, except for the lyrics, which seem to idolize the whole Pokémon idea. [2 Stars]

8. "Do Ya Really Wanna Play": an okay song that is the most Pop-oriented one on this disc. [3 Stars]

9. "Song of Jigglypuff": a relaxing song with Jigglypuff singing solo in places. [4 Stars]

10 "Two Perfect Girls": a song sure to put a smile on your face. It is a Late '50s style song that is performed by Eric Stuart, the voice-actor of the character Brock (Stuart has a few other albums out by his group, "The Eric Stuart Band," not of this style music, however). [5 Stars]

11. "Never Too Far From Home": a nice slow ballad with good lyrics. [4 Stars]

12. "PokéRap GS": the new version of the original "PokéRap" heard in the album "2.B.A. Master." Even though it by no means outdoes its predecessor, it has some good overall lyrics. It can get redundant after a while, though. [3 Stars]

13-19: Various karaoke tracks from the original songs.

Overall, this album isn't quite as good as its predecessor, "2.B.A. Master," but it has a few better songs to it. Pokémon fans of any age should like this CD's fun songs and overall carefree tone.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD pales in comparison to 2B A Master, October 1, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
This is the best Pokemon music CD yet! Here's a track by track review of what I think:
1. Pokemon Johto- My favorite theme song, it opens up third season Pokemon episodes. 9/10
2. Pikachu ( I Choose You)- This song is a latin-pop style song. It's ok, but the other songs are better. 7/10
3. All We Wanna Do- This is a Pokemon style frendship ballad. It's good but it pales in comparison to "Together Forever" on 2B A Master. 8/10
4. The Game- This song is good if you can understand the words the're saying. 6/10
5. He Drives Me Crazy- This is a song about Misty's secret crush on Ash. It's pretty good. 8/10
6. You & Me and Pokemon- My favorite song! The verses are kinda slow, but the refrain rocks out loud! It's almost like the song explodes! 10/10
7. The Biggest Part of My Life- This song is pretty catchy, but pales in comparison to the other songs on this CD. 5/10
8. Do You Really Wanna Play- This song is really cool. 9/10
9. The Song of Jigglypuff- A very catchy tribute to Jigglypuff. I like it. 8/10
10. Two Perfect Girls- This is a hilarious song about Brock's crush on every girl he sees. Very catchy. 9/10
11. Never To Far From Home- This song isn't the worst Pokemon song in the world, but it could be better. 7/10
12. Pokerap GS- This song is a Pokerap that raps out all the Pokemon that appear in the Gold and Silver games. It's good, but pales in comparison to the original Pokerap. 8/10
All the rest of the songs are instrumental versions of the songs I just reviewed and they can be played on a kareoke machine. I hoped you enjoyed reading my review. Don't forget, if you don't have this CD, get it now, you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Pokémon - Totally excellent!, January 26, 2001
By
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
This CD may have been three months late being published, but it was certainly worth the wait. Totally Pokémon comprises of a collection of Pokémon related songs, some of which are played in the Karaokemon part of the TV show. From the fast moving and fun Pokémon Johto title theme, to the outrageous Two Perfect Girls (I'm now calling this song Brock's Dilemma), this CD maintains the quality of music that we enjoyed on the original 2 B A Master CD in 1999.

Perhaps the main point of criticism with this CD, in my opinion, is the fact that most of the tracks on it are pop styled. I think that the pop music invasion of Pokémon has gone a little too far, and this CD (mostly handled by John Loeffler from Rave Music) reflects this, as did the recently released Pokémon The Movie 2000. I would like to see a return to the "good old days" of the 2 B A Master style.

Overall, this CD is superb, with catchy tracks and a CD cover you're going to want on your desktop! Recommended to all Pokémon fans everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, June 13, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
Do These are all really good songs! Get this! Or you can hear the songs at the Pokemon Website. Not the Karaoke ones though,so if you want Karaoke then you have to buy the CD. Also its kind of blurry. Here is my opinion of them.
Pokemon Johto is the theme song for the Third series. Its okay, but not the best song on this.
I Choose You is actually pretty fun. It's my mom's favorite song on this. Its like latin or salsa or whatever you call it.
All we Wanna Do is really a great song. I love the tune. On the lyrics sheet,it has the words wrong. It really goes"All we Wanna do is have a good time. Having lots of fun with all these friends of mine. All we wanna do is Celebrate every time we've been together, its been great. Lookin' for adventure big and small, just being with our friends like you is all we wanna do."
The Game is pretty cool sounding, but I can barely understand a word they say because it has lots of people singing different things at the same time. It sounds like its awful? Don't knock it till you try it. Its pretty good.
He Drives me Crazy is a song Misty sings. Unlike Misty's Song, she's complaining about Ash's stubborn-ness.It the special review thingy. It says its in Celebration, its really in...complaintion? Is that a word? Oh well,it is. No clues of the AAML here people,if you want that buy 2. B. A. Master. Ash is a meanie. She follows him around day after day when he is complaining his lungs out(sometimes, anyway)and when she can't come along what does he do? Just leaves her there. What kind of a friend is he? Well, back to the songs.
You & Me & Pokemon is a pretty good song. Its in Pokemon Heroes, but this version is faster. Elan Rivera is really good at singing,I could never sing like her!
Biggest part of My Life I didn't like at first, but then I thought about it,and realized I could relate to it. That is exactly what I felt when I got interested in Pokemon. It couldn't descride it better if I'd written it myself. Every single word describes what it felt like to start getting into Pokemon. Especialy"Never knew that it would be the biggest part of my life!" and"Everyone talking about it every where. I geuss I just wasn't listening."
Do Ya Really Wanna Play? is a cool song. I just like the sound of it,and the words fit together. Its really fun to sing the third verse.
Song Of Jigglypuff is a really cool-sounding song. The really blurry version on the computer sounds better than the actual thing.
Two Perfect Girls is Brock's song, but I'm certain you could have geussed that from the title. At first i was embarrassed to listen to this song, but now I think its hillarious. Brock is really embarrassing though. When I watch Pokemon I sometimes scream because he's so embarrassing.
Never Too Far From Home is okay I geuss. Not great, not horrible.
Pokerap GS is a pretty cool sounding song in parts. When athey start saying all the Pokemon names though,it can get kind of boring.
That's the CD. Overall,I'd say it great, get it,you won't regret it(unless maybe you have Pokemon 3 soundtrack. But even then, you might still want both).

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS CD!, January 29, 2001

This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
I am 19 years old and I love this CD! I'm not really a pokemon fan, but my younger brother loves the show and watches it every day after school...he bought this CD the second it came out and plays it nonstop. I was expecting it to be painful, but it actually has some really great catchy pop songs. I especially like The Game, and Do Ya Really Want To Play?. They remind me of the popular *NSync and Britney Spears songs. I was really impressed by the CD as a whole. This is definitely a great CD to buy for your kids, whether or not they like pokemon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Good, June 16, 2001
By
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
This CD may not stack up to 2.B.A. Master (the first Pokémon CD), but it's still damn good.

"Pokémon Johto" is the opening theme to Pokémon: The Johto Journeys. I like it.

Tracks 2, 3, 6, 9 & 10 are all songs from the Karaokémon segment which wraps up the Johto Journeys series. I really like track 2 ("Pikachu") and track 6 ("You & Me & Pokémon"). The others are just okay, I guess.

"The Game" is a pretty generic song, as is "He Drives Me Crazy".

The remaining tracks, "Biggest Part of My Life", "Do Ya Really Wanna Play", and "Never Too Far From Home" are all great songs. One major downside, though, is that they fail to mention Pokémon anywhere. They could literally play them on the radio and you'd have no idea of the song's origin.

Actually, I think that, in general, the whole "generic pop song" mentality has taken over the Pokémon CDs, and it's gone just a little too far. I expect a few generic songs on a really mainstream release, like a movie soundtrack, but the instrumentals of songs from this CD are (frequently) played in the show, and every time I hear one, it makes me cringe. The songs are just so unoriginal, and have nothing new to offer. Oh well, at least they're catchy.

"Pokérap GS" rocks, although it pales in comparison to the original Pokérap. Not like I care, it's still really cool.

The karaoke tracks are pure filler, and without vocals, they're really boring. Oh well. Karaoke tracks are a common sight on anime CDs, so I can't do anything about it.

Overall, this CD is a good buy. But if you don't have 2.B.A. Master, I suggest you buy that one first. It's a tiny bit better.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Totally Pokemon", Totally Cool!, January 24, 2001
This review is from: Totally Pokemon (From the TV Series) (Audio CD)
This is a cd of music from "Pokemon: The Johto Journeys" First, there's the extended version of the "Johto" theme, it has a danceable beat, next Even Pikachu could dig "Pikachu, I Choose You!" because of its latin dance beats, "All We Wanna Do" sounds like M2M and JC Chavez, they should cover this. Tracks 4, 5, 7, and 8 are ok. "Song of Jigglypuff" is the second song to not only pay tribute to this cute pokemon, but to include it singing "Jigglypuff, Jiggly...", "Two Perfect Girls" This track rocks differently from the tv show, and "Pokerap GS" is a different rap from the first containing Gold and Silver Pokemon including my favorites, Marill, Snubbull, Togepi, etc. There are 7 karaokemon tracks, and most of the songs are performed by the group Johto. And "Two Perfect Girls" is sung by Brock.
