This is a very nice and accurate coin counting jar. First thing that I noticed is that the jar is made out of high quality plastic. I've seen many other coin counters made out of very thin cheap chincy plastic that looks like it is made from a cheap water bottle. This also has a nice top that is accurate and also has a feature that can subtract money. It never made a mistake in counting for me. The size is just about right because it isn't too big or too small. If you expect to put in a couple hundred dollars in mixed coins, you may want to look for something else though. The only negative that I can see is that the amount always remains showing which seems to be a waste of battery power but some people may prefer it showing all the time. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

PS. The coin counting mechanism is based on measurement of the coin so one has to put the coin through the slot from the left side. If someone puts a coin and pushes/pulls it to the center rather than pushing the coin down from left side, it may get a wrong reading. As long as you put the coin in correctly, it should always get a correct reading.

I gave it to my husband because he has a lot of coins laying around in the car. And he love it. It tells him how much change he have at hand and he can subtract when he uses it. Two thumbs up.......

Is actually of far better quality than I expected for the price. Not ashamed to leave it out in the open in my new Volvo. If they weren't "out of stock", I'd buy a couple more.

I received this as a gift and set it to work counting some loose change at my office. It determines the type of coin by the widest measurement and requires that you push the coin through quickly. Since the slot is spring loaded, you might have difficulty pushing coins through sometimes and the counter will read inaccurately. Also if you push it halfway into the slot and pull it out, it might still count it anyway. Not a big deal, but it keeps me from rating this 5 stars.

The buttons to subtract coins from the total work nicely. I only wish there was an extra way for it to show you how many of each coin are in the jar; this way I could tell when it is time to make a roll.

This is not only a handy product for adults, but an excellent tool for teaching children how a little money added each day can add up to an impressive total. It is a goal tool for saving for something really wanted.

It's a bank that fits in a car's cupholder. So I'm not sure why Amazon classifies this as a toy and wants me to talk about how much fun it is. OK. It's not "fun" at all. It's a bank. I bought two of them as gifts for people old enough to drive and own their own cars.
The plastic is probably sturdier than some but it still seems a bit more fragile than I expected. I like the feature of being able to subtract from the running total when you take money out.
Since they were purchased as gifts, I can't speak for the durability or functionality.
I was, however, very disappointed in the packaging. This was ordered from Amazon but filled by another company and I was not happy with the way they sent it. Two plastic banks in not sturdy cardboard boxes were mailed in one of those thin envelopes that you can't tear. There was no protection whatsoever so of course the boxes were crushed. Not cool when it's supposed to be a gift. I examined the banks carefully and they do not seem to be cracked or damaged. But the crushed boxes make it look like this is some last-minute crappy gift I picked out of a clearance bin at Big Lots instead of the thoughtful, plan-ahead gift it really is.
Overall, I think this is a great item and it will make a nice gift. But it should not be classified as a toy and the packaging definitely needs to be improved.

I bought this for my son, so he can see his money increasing when he gets little rewards for doing things. He enjoys it, although he's always opening it and setting it back down to zero ;)

The Jar is great! I purchase this as a gift for my boyfriend, who always has coins lingering all over. The product arrived fast and in good condition. The vase is made of strong acrilyc, does not feel cheap, the jar is heavy and as far as I could tell it counted the coins right. It's important to fully insert the coins from left to right, cause if the coin does not go in, sometimes it will count another type of coin, the good news is that it will tell you which type it counted and with the substract buttons you can just substract the incorrect ammount. You will need to buy the batteries, but so far my boyfriend and I are very happy with it. Will recommend.

The material seems high quality and it is accurate if you insert it right. The extra feature to deduct money sure is a nice addition.

The only con is that you have to insert it right. The coin slot is big enough for a half dollar and there is a little bar near the center dividing the slot in two sections that measures the diameter of the coin when you insert it. You have to insert in on the correct side.
