4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I recently purchased this item to keep my cats out of the pack n play while my daughter was in it. It was very easy to put together, I did it myself at 9 months pregnant. It seems very sturdy and I am generally happy with it. The only issue I have is that I think it will be a pain to take it down, it is definitely not going to be as portable as the pack n play itself. It fits nicely on my basic Graco Pack n Play. The tent is designed to fit a range of sizes and mine is on the small end, you just use the velcro straps on either end to tighten the sides and make it fit to the size of your pack n play. Oh and it's also big enough so the play bar that came with my pack n play can still be attached even with the tent installed.

Also, this is NOT the recalled version from last year, unlike a previous reviewer suggested. That product was the Portable Play Yard Tent with Cabana, this is the Portable Play Yard Tent with Sunshade. Additionally, the box clearly says it has redesigned clips, which was the issue with the recalled product, the clips. This is the newer redesigned product, not the old recalled one.

Thank god my husband found this. I knew about the crib tent, but I didn't know they made them for the play yards, but I have so much more peace of mind knowing that I can put my baby in the play yard (we have Chicco Adventure XL play yard, currently with the bassinet and changing tray on) and it protects her from our cats. And yes, they've already done "product testing" for us, many, MANY times in the last month, and so far it has completely stayed sturdy. The only modification we had to make to accommodate the changing tray was to leave off the clip from one corner, but it still works like a champ. If there were some way to accommodate the changing tray without leaving off a clip, and some way to hang a toy or mobile from arch, I would give this 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Without this I couldn't travel with my monkey!, August 30, 2011

My son has been crawling out of his crib since he was 14 months old. We have the crib tent at home and when I had a trip to take with my 20 month old I was so happy when I found this product. We had bought 2 different crib tents for our crib at home, the first one we bought which was The Crib Tent II 1, was horrible- the zipper broke the 2nd time we used it, and although my husband (who can fix almost anything) was able to fix it several times, after a few months it totally broke beyond repair. The fit on our crib, which has a higher back than front- was terrible and the design left much to be desired. I felt like my son wasn't ready for a big boy bed yet (I would literally have to take everything out of his room to do that)...so I bit the bullet and bought another tent- but this time the Crib Tent for convertible cribs was available so I bought that one- and what a difference!! It fit on our crib so much better and the zipper has yet to break. When this trip came up I decided in order to have any peace and quiet I would have to have a tent for the pack-n-play so I bought this. It worked great, took about 20 minutes to set up but fit my Graco pack-n-play perfect. My son went right to sleep each time, where without it he would have been constantly crawling out of the pack-n-play and would have been 0 fun for me on my trip.

5.0 out of 5 stars 17 month old escapee!!, July 27, 2011

We have only used this for a few days, but it quickly put a stop to our 17 1/2 month old climbing out of his playpen. We have twins that wake eachother at night so he often sleeps in his pack-n-play in the family room. It was dangerous to have him climing out at night and getting into whatever he could. It is not the recalled version. I received the new version with new clips. It assembled easily (similar to a tent when camping), and although it was a struggle of tugging and pushing to get it to attach to the top of the pack-n-play, the fabric didn't tear and I haven't had any problems with the zipper yet. However, keep in mind that it won't clip to the arched sides of the pack-n-play. It will hang over. Hasn't been a problem for us, but important to know.

3.0 out of 5 stars CSPC Recall - Portable Playard Tent, January 31, 2011
This review is from: Tots In Mind Crib Tents Portable Playard Tent Plus Sunshade, White (Baby Product)
I am writing this review mainly to notify parents that this item was voluntarily recalled in July 2010 in the US and Canada by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, due to strangulation hazard. See [...]As for the product itself, I gave it three stars because we have one and it worked fine for a while. It is not the most durable thing, but neither is the Crib Tent by the same company. For both the Crib Tent and the Portable Playard (this one), the zipper went off track several times within the first 6 months, but we were able to fix it each time. After about 12 months of use, the zipper was unfixable, which renders the tent useless. Also, on the Portable Playard, the fastening clips break very easily. I broke 2 or 3 of them just trying to put the thing together, and I was very careful. Tots in Mind sent us 5 or 6 replacement clips free of charge, which was good because some of those broke, too(!), but I had enough extra to fully assemble it. If your kids tend to pull or put their weight on the structural rods that define the "roof," expect them to break or tear through the fabric within a year, too.

All in all, these tents do their job, keeping the kid in the crib. But I wouldn't get one now because of the recall. And if you do own one, be prepared for them to last only about a year or so.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy if you have a Chicco LX Play Yard, January 13, 2012

This review is from: Tots In Mind Crib Tents Portable Playard Tent Plus Sunshade, White (Baby Product)
We purchased this tent hoping it would keep our cat out of our baby's play yard bassinet - seemed like a great idea! It is advertised as being able to fit any standard sized play yard but it does not. We have this one: Chicco Lullaby Lx Playard, Hazelwood and the clips absolutely do NOT fit on the rails. FYI - we did receive the new clips that were released after the recall.

I actually purchased this based on another review where someone owned a Chicco play yard and said it worked - but it could have been a different model or perhaps the old recalled clips were larger. Now we DID have the bassinet attachment in - and there is so much padding on the chicco with the bassinet that there was just no way those clips were going on. So we figure we'd take them off and see if it would work on just the rails - ALSO a no-go. My husband is strong and he could not even get these clips on. He could tell that if he forced them on they would either break or be likely to go flying off because they were not a good fit - either way a safety issue.

I gave it two stars because I like the idea and it apparently works for some play yard systems - but just not for ours. I sure wish it would have worked - it is a great idea. We'll be getting one for our crib once baby goes into a crib but this unfortunately didn't work with our play yard. It would be nice if they would include a list of known play yards that work with this as the box is huge and annoying to return.

I love this product. It was easy to assemble and durable. It attached easily to my Gracco pack and go. My 2 yr old now stays in bed at night. I would recommend this to a friend. It arrived on time and was in good condition.

I purchased this item to keep my 20 month old son in his Pack N Play. I have only used the crib tent twice. It has since ripped out in the four corners and I had to sew it. I have tried it on three different styles of Graco Pack N Plays and the older model(where the four sides are the same height) seems to work best for the tent. The newer Graco Pack N Plays have two sides that are higher and this makes the crib tent fit so tight that the clasps snap off leaving a hole that could be a potential strangulation hazard. It is also not fun to put together! I also own the crib tent from Tots in mind that is for my son's every day crib and I love that it seems a lot safer because it is secured under the mattress. It would be nice if Tots in Mind would design something like that for the Pack N Plays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crib Tent, August 19, 2011

This review is from: Tots In Mind Crib Tents Portable Playard Tent Plus Sunshade, White (Baby Product)
When visiting my mother, my child sleeps in a pack and play in the same room with me. The pack and play sits in front of my bed, and she was able to pull herself out her bed. One night while I was sleeping, she proceeded to pull herself out of the pack and play but fell between my bed and her bed. I bought this to keep her from being the great escape artist she has so recently become. It has done the job I wanted it do, but now she cries when I put her to bed at my mother's. I think it scares her.

It was kind of rough putting it together by myself, but I managed.

Overall, it's a good product.

Works best with the standard graco pack n play, but is far too small for the tot block. It does fit over slightly larger play pens but it becomes more difficult to zip it up and to snap the clips in place - sometimes it requires quite a bit of straining and struggling, leading me to fear that I will either rip the zipper or break the clips, or both.
