Amerie Reveals A Personal Touch!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Touch (Audio CD)
The title "Touch" is a more personal look into Amerie's heart with much growth as an artist and a little bit more to share. The single off the album Touch features the album version and the one featuring T.I. not on many of the other releases including this Japan Import. The song is catchy and definitely groove friendly with much dance ambiance. T.I. delivers excellent rap skills.
The song and theme "Touch" has a funky sassy style that is definitely one of Amerie's personal messages that good girls can be fun and also her message of what the album is about-to know more about her- A more up close look into her experiences and her opening up for the world and fans to hear! There are mid-tempo, up-tempo, and mellow jams thus making it a blended selection unlike her first album All I Have which was a more laid back R&B and her other one titled, Because I Love It that has very party up-tempo tracks. This 14- track Japanese Import has the bonus tracks "Why Don't We Fall In Love" (Richcraft Remix) and "I'm Coming Out"- both enhancing the dance moods and listening experience! The up-tempo tracks are definitely entertaining, and club hot. Bonus Track 1: "Why Don't We Fall In Love" (Richcraft Remix)" [3:35] is also found on her album Japan Import All I Have. It's a similar sound to the original but slightly longer clocking at 3:35 vs 2:39 Album Version. The remix maintain the vocals, and original sound to a degree thus bringing more speed, and sound effects. Bonus Track 2: "I'm Coming Out" [3:31] is from Maid In Manhattan. It's got a huge catchy hypnotic vibe definitely along the lines of bringing the disco days back. This is the kind of music that Amerie sings fabulously reflecting an array of soulful blends along jazzy hinted instruments and more. "1 Thing" (featuring Eve) [4:18] is my most heard song of all no matter how much time passes. The video from the dual disc edition is great to see it --Touch. It's fast, high paced beats packed with energetic styles are more geared to my musical tastes. This is more like her album Because I Love It for it's positive uplifting party moods. As Amerie says on her documentary, "It's undertone is about confidence, strength, independence, and trusting your own instincts." Aside, "1 Thing" plus "1 Thing Featuring Eve", other stand-out tracks include: "Touch", "All I Need", "Talkin' About", and "Can We Go" Featuring Carl Thomas. Favorites from my listening experience would be many but to name a few: "Falling" for it's references to slowly falling in love with that special someone, "Just Like Me" for actually finding a person who will love back after a hard search and wanting to give up, "Rolling Down My Face" for it's tender emotions of love that takes a hold, and "Talkin' About" for its references on a great love match that brings joy, and "finally" finding your soul mate.
