Product Description

2001 Christy Award winner!
Fashion designer Alexandra Prescott fully expects her latest business trip to be an adventure. After all, she is looking for inspiration for a line of exotic fabrics. But her well-ordered plans are shattered by news of financial disaster—and an attempt on her life! Reluctantly admitting her vulnerability, she is forced to turn for help to Grant Thornton, an infuriatingly independent anthropologist whom she has met under suspicious circumstances. Inexplicably drawn together, neither is prepared for the challenges ahead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, April 8, 2001

I was really looking forward to reading this book, having already read the first two and it was a huge let down. The story seemed to drag out and I couldn't really get involved in the story line at all. The first book about Tillie and Graham was much better and was the best book of the whole series. I would still read Catherine Palmer books but, this is one that I would not read again. I would LOVE to read a book about Fiona Thornton though. I want to hear her story. Why she hides herself away etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Touch of Betrayal, March 23, 2001
By
Terri S. Huggins (Greentown, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This was the first Catherine Palmer book I read and I loved it. It is a wonderful story full of adventure and romance. I found myself not wanting to put it down. Ms. Palmer brings the characters to life and you find yourself feeling a part of their world. The message of Christ is developed through the faith of the characters and the story shows how important a witness through example in all aspects of life can bring others to "surrender". If you like suspence, adventure, romance and an element of surprise - I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars authentic, August 1, 2011

What I really liked about this book and others by Palmer is that you can tell she lived in Africa. It makes you feel like you have visited there too. Also I love how her "mama" uses scripture all the time in a very natural way as if the Bible is so a part of her thinking that her answers always rely on scripture for support - I wish I were more this way myself.
