ONE TOUCH FROM THE MAKER contains stories of people in crisis and how they found comfort and healing through God's intervention and grace. These are not a pat everyone is healed or everything is all right stories. Yes, there are stories of healing and amazing coincidences of God's intervention. But there are others stories of great personal and family tragedy and how God worked in those situations as well. Pat Kirk has assembled a collection of inspiring testimonies that reveal God's presence in the lives of the authors. His powers of healing and protection are evident as you read through the pages of this book. Even though this book can be read in small segments, you will find yourself turning page after page to read the next story...and the next...and the next. Highly recommended.

Pat W. Kirk has compiled testimonies from people who have been touched with God's power either by healing, comfort or protection from certain tragedy. You will find yourself unable to put this book down. God's love is hard to understand and His ways truly are mysterious. The stories chosen for this compilation are a mixture of the heart-warming and comforting and amazing stories of how God works in our lives today. Not just knowing that He can, but knowing that He will is the message each story seeks to convey.

One of my favorite stories in the book is Lisa R. Russell's "Praying for Snow," a testimony of how God showed one little girl she had value, not only to Him but to her father as well. Stories of healing, comfort, encouragement, hope, protection and provision can all be found in this one book. A great gift for someone who thinks God doesn't care or doesn't work in our lives today. The people in this book are just like you and me. They sought God and found Him. In some cases, He sought them, cradled them and became a light in a hopeless situation.

God is who He says He is and these testimonies are filled with proof. This is definitely a book worth reading.

These stories make people think deeply about their lives and people around them. It shows God's mercy shield of protection in troubling times and lives being saved through life's hardships. For example, the Fourth Man in the Fire, where a whole entire family could have died in a house explosion and the Lord spared everyone.

My two favorite stories are, "The Lure of the Witch" and "Stumbling Through".

"The Lure of the Witch" was so powerful and is especially important for our young people who are trying to define themselves and fit into the "in" crowd. This testimony is important because even when young people come from a Christian background, they are always tempted to make the wrong decisions in life. But, God is always there with his people to pray, direct and show love in the right direction. Most people would be surprise that a lot of people are going through the same or similar experiences that Frances Judge when through in College.

"Stumbling Through" is very inspirational during these difficult and economical times we are having now. This short story will bring hope and encouragement to people who feel that all is lost.

One touch from the Maker is an excellent book for the newly saved Christian and even the mature Christian to read. The short stories demonstrate the able of God to work through numerous situations with unlimited power.
