5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal AND Sexy!!, December 7, 2008
This review is from: Touch Me (Aphrodisia) (Paperback)
I don't think the back blurb really does this book justice or fully conveys the wonderful depth of this story and the character development that is an integral part of this book. This is such an intelligent, well written, book that's full of feelings and spine tingling sexual encounters.

Ann has several inner conflicts to settle, most especially those concerning her mother and those involving David, a married colleague who engenders a kind of sexual spark. The author carries us along Ann's path of enlightenment and her ultimate decisions concerning her future quite brilliantly.

I love the friendship that the "Awesome Foursome share (starting with her book "Champagne Rules"); the loyalty the four friends have to each other and the honesty they bring to the table when trying to help each other through those rough patches leaves me wanting that for myself. The friendship the four girlfriends share is kind of "sex and the cityish", but by no means frivolous. They tackle relationship and personal challenges intelligently and each book in the series takes you to a deeper understanding of the group dynamics.

Adonis!! A hero every woman wishes and hopes for. He is not an Alpha male. He cares about feelings and touching and those tantric sexual experiences. He believes all aspects of life should be savored.

I absolutely love the scene where Ann closes her eyes and must identify and describe the taste and texture of various foods (a red grape, an olive, a chocolate covered cherry, etc.) WOW!! What an amazing piece of writing. I swear I could taste and experience those foods right along with Ann. YUM! In the beginning, it appears that Ann is going to steamroll right over this man (yes, she has` control issues). However, he gently steers her where she should go and where he wants to take her. At one point, after having spent the morning together, going to breakfast, going walking, talking, and enjoying nature, Ann questions and doesn't understand why Adonis isn't dragging her into his apartment to have sex. His response to her blew me away. He said, "Haven't we been making love since the moment we met this morning?" Such a poignant moment that was! Adonis takes Ann to a deeper level, where lovemaking is "about so much more than a goal-oriented drive toward orgasm." Just as Adonis guides Ann to confronting her inner demons, Ann, unwittingly, helps him confront his too.

This is an exceptional story, that to me is more sensual than erotic---and I loved it!! This book is part of a series: Book 1-Champagne Rules and Book 2-Hot In Here. However, this is by far the best in my opinion and can be read as a stand alone. Read this book and savor it--its worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Kisses, TwoLips Reviews, July 1, 2008

This review is from: Touch Me (Aphrodisia) (Paperback)
Ann Montgomery is so uptight it hurts. Literally. She's clenching her jaw so tightly that she's on painkillers. Her friends suggest she get a good massage, and she goes to a spa called Pure Indulgence. There she meets Adonis - yes, that's his real name - and he gives her a very pleasurable massage. But Adonis isn't unaffected by this tense but classy lady. He would very much like to get to know her better, outside of the work setting.

Ann has been trying to live up to her mother's expectations all her life, and always falls short. She's trying to build her career, and hasn't had much time for a romantic relationship.

Adonis seems like Ann's opposite; she's career-driven with a type A personality and he's laid back, going with the flow. You'd think they would have nothing in common, but instead they form a really nice balance. They also both feel a very intense attraction to one another. But they do struggle with some issues - Adonis wants to savor their physical relationship, preferring slow, intense lovemaking. Goal-oriented Ann has always felt like she's racing to an orgasmic finish line, and she likes to be in charge. Compromise is the word of the day.

Adonis is persistent and patient with Ann, making him a very adorable and supremely satisfying hero. He puts up with more than I probably would, because he wants to break through Ann's barriers to find the real woman inside.

Both of them need to make decisions that will affect their budding relationship. Will they make the right choices?

Having read the second book in this series, I had high expectations for this instalment. I wasn't disappointed in the least. Once again, Susan Lyons demonstrates her ability to write a superb love story. Oh, and the cover...? Hot! I'm already itching to read the fourth and final book in the series.

5 Kisses, 2 Peppers (oral sex, bone-melting tantric sex, sex in public)
