"Touch My Hand" is the third single from David Archuleta's debut CD. The song is about a singer who falls in love with a girl in the audience: I see the sparkle of a million flashlights/ A wonderwall of stars/ But the one that's shining out so bright/ Is the one right where you are. He wants to keep singing so that the girl will stay: Can't let the music stop/ Can't let this feeling end/ Cause if I do it'll all be over/ I'll never see you again. The chorus features him reaching out to her: Trying to reach out to you/ Touch my hand/ Reach out as far as you can/ Only me, only you, and the band/ Trying to reach out to you/ Touch my hand. Whether or not he gets the girl is left to the imagination.

While the lyrics and teen-pop sound are hardly novel, the song is very catchy and upbeat; I'm sure it will sound good on the radio. Also, the piano intro is lovely, and David's vocals are strong. After "Crush" was such a hit (#2 in the U.S.), David faltered with his second single, "A Little Too Not over You." That song sounded very radio-friendly, but didn't even make the Top 100, bubbling under the chart at #114. I'm not sure whether "Touch My Hand" will re-establish David on the radio; I would have selected another song from the CD, "My Hands," as the next single. However, "Touch My Hand" is a good song, and hopefully David's appearance on the April 22nd episode American Idol will help.

I love this song! Also, I like "Crush" and "A little too not over you".
