Gen is Amazing this is basiclly Machine Love without the extra remixs but it is still very cool to have if you are a Genitorturers fan! Right now it is a authorized burned cd but I have heard from a fairly reliable source that it is supposed to be in production soon. Who knows maybe we will see soon.

I found out about the Genitorturers in the strangest place. While I won't get into the particulars, when I heard their cover tune of the Divinyls "I Touch Myself," it blew me away. I remember when the original song came out while I was in high school, I was impressed with the brassiness of the subject material, especially being sung by a woman. No one spoke about THAT particular activity then except in hushed tones. It's now almost 25 years later, and almost everything is out of the closet, so the song would not resonate as ballsy today in an age of Lady Ga Ga, Rhianna or, or post-Madonna, 2 Live Crew and Snoop Dogg. But what IS interesting about this song is it is a good example of what makes a great cover tune. That is, you make the song your own. There have been awesome covers in the past, many better than the originals, such as Jimi Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower," Ike and Tina Turner's "Proud Mary," even Devo's take on the Rolling Stone's "Satisfaction" or Disturbed's take on Genesis "Land of Confusion" or U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." Love 'em or hate 'em, they made the song their own, and THAT is what makes a good cover. If I want to hear a faithful reproduction, I will listen to the original. Give it some weird twist, and the Genitorturers do, with their current-weird mix of Rob Zombie meets Marilyn Manson grooves. Check it out. When you finish, check out their earlier stuff. I love their evolution from a harder industrial sound, to a more KMFDM heavy-dance groove, to their current sounds. They are all interesting and worth checking out. I'm surprised they aren't more popular today.
