5.0 out of 5 stars Nick Bracco is back! May 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Another terrific thriller from Gary Ponzo!
Picking up a couple of years after A Touch of Deceit, Nick, Tommy, Matt and the rest race to save each other (and fair number of other Americans), while they dodge the best efforts of last remnants of the Kurdish Security Force to bring them down.
Gary provides one twist after another, at pace that picks up speed all they way through the final battle, (with it's own ultimate surprise)!
I literally could not put this down once I started it.
Gary Ponzo writes a thoughtful, entertaining and engaging thriller that echoes the best traditions of Ludlum, Baldacci and Deighton.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner May 15, 2011

I thought "A Touch of Deceit", the first in this series, could not be surpassed. I was wrong! This is a non-stop, action-packed, "can't put this book down" (which I didn't) sequel. The author's writing sweeps you up and into the story, from the first chapter...to the satisfying conclusion. Watch out Ludlum, Coben, Baldacci....here comes Gary Ponzo!

5.0 out of 5 stars No disappointment here!!!! May 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love books that start off within the first breath after the last one exhaled in the previous book...

Gary Ponzo is my new favorite author!

The characters are so believable and the story line kept me wanting to continue reading even though my Kindle would fall forward and hit me in the head as I'd fall asleep.

An excellent ending!!! Ohhh... I never saw it coming!

Gary is so good at dropping in bits of real life happenings that add to the pleasure of being 'inside' the book. You become a voyeur standing off to the side watching, being able to divorce yourself from the action of reading... you are THERE!

Thank you, Gary, for not letting this go until you were 100% of where you wanted the book to be! I am sooo anticipating the next book...

3.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Strong Ending May 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is worth reading for the third act, which is highly suspenseful and contains a superb twist.

Getting there is somewhat more problematic. There are times when credulity is strained. For instance, there's a murky character named Buck who appears somewhere near the beginning of the book. Even the author doesn't seem to know what to do with him and quickly gives him the axe.

This novel screams out for a strong editor. For while it's highly entertaining and completely credible in places, the story is often undercut by awkward passages and plot lines.

There's a terrific novel hidden somewhere in these pages. Sadly, A TOUCH OF REVENGE reads like an early draft in places.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Nick Bracco Series February 19, 2013
By Aloha
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
1st was A Touch of Deceit. This 2nd book is just as good as the first. Love the characters and the story line. Exciting and fast paced. Not too much wasted description of landscape and the like. I like to get to the "meat" without the fluff and this delivers. Good enough that I have purchased the 3rd "A Touch of Greed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong book July 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A Touch of Revenge is by Gary Ponzo. Once more Gary writes a suspense that keeps one engrossed in the novel. It pertains to terrorism which is the danger at which we are all looking at now. His characters are realistic and are well developed. The plot is twisting and convoluted but keeps you coming back.
Nick Bracco has retired and moved to Payson, Arizona with his wife Julie. He is now the Sheriff and is relaxing for the first time in his life. Then a sniper takes a shot at him and hits him in the chest. Thanks to a couple of good accidental moves, the bullet did not hit anything vital. Now he is in the hospital walking with a walker and ready to get up and move around.
His buddy and friend, Matt has also moved to Payson. He still works for the FBI but works with Jennifer Steele, his long time love. They are still looking for the final group of Kurds who got away before they do something else. Will they find the Kurds in time?
Now a Russian shows up intending to kill Nick. He has never worked outside of Russia before but is enjoying it. Will he keep his word and kill Nick or will Nick get to him first?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, couldn't put it down June 27, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I discovered Gary Ponzo's books two weeks ago and have now read every book he has published that is available on Amazon. I love this series and seriously love the writing. I think it is in the same league or better than James Patterson. The main character in this series reminds me of Micheal Bennett. The details included and the warmth of the characters make these books impossible to put down. If you love James Patterson, you will absolutely love Gary Ponzo.

Some times wish that it was this easy to kill criminals.
I have decided that I will buy all his books as they are published in this series.
The books are great value for money and have good story lines. They are very similar to the Jack Ryan series but much better value for money.

More About the Author

Author Gary Ponzo began his writing career over a decade ago by writing short stories. He quickly discovered a knack for the short form. In just five years he'd published seven short stories in various publications, two of which were nominated for the very prestigious Pushcart Prize.

His first novel, "A Touch of Deceit," took five years to write and one to pick clean. The story was born from his childhood experiences working in his father's candy store in Brooklyn, NY. His father was Sicilian and became friendly with some local members of a different kind of Sicilian family. Since Gary was just fifteen at the time, these family members would make sure he was protected whenever he would work late at night by himself. He soon discovered a side to the mafia not many people knew. It was these relationships which caused him to write about Sicilian FBI agent, Nick Bracco, who recruits his mafia cousin to chase down the world's most feared terrorist.

"A Touch of Deceit," went on to win the 2009 Southwest Writers Novel Contest, Thriller category. He is currently working on the 5th book in the Nick Bracco series as well as trying to create world peace in his spare time. Gary currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Jennifer and two children, Jessica and Kyle.
