5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of appetizers for parties! June 22, 2012

Even if you're not a football fan (raising hand), if you like yummy food at parties you'll appreciate this book.

Most of the recipes use wholesome ingredients and sound delicious. The author makes suggestions for using lower fat cream cheese, sour cream, and so forth and in many cases the substitutions would likely be unnoticeable. She also has compiled a very nice list of things to use as dippers - including a comprehensive list of veggies that go beyond the standard 'celery/baby carrots/raw broccoli/cherry tomatoes' that are so ubiquitous in store-prepared veggie trays.

The Olive Bean Dip and Black Bean Dip both sound delicious, and her Mediterranean Hummus recipe is very similar to mine. The Shrimp and Crab Dip, Garlic Crab Dip (with an option of making a Hot Crab Dip), Blue Cheese Dip, and Blue Cheese Ball all sound delightful.

The formatting is superb. Although there are no photographs, the recipes are straightforward with clear instructions. I enjoyed Ms. Chamber's writing style in her Introduction.

The next time you are giving a party, or are bringing goodies to someone else's party, step outside your Costco comfort zone and try some of these recipes!
