5.0 out of 5 stars ALLRIGHT NOW, GET THE DVD BOXED SETS OUT THERE!!
Quite honestly, this in my opinion, is the best television series ever to hit the airwaves. Of course, CBS didn't want a quality program like this on the air so what do they do??? They take it off its Sunday night family time-slot where it carried CBS for years!!! They put it on Saturday night, ditched all the promotion behind the program and the show succumbed to...

1.0 out of 5 stars It's another "death & coping" episode... where's my prozac?
I'm sorry, folks, but I've never considered TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL to be uplifting or inspiring. It always seems to succeed in depressing me during the handful of times I've viewed it. It's likely due to the fact that just about every third episode in the series deals with death and/or dying, and learning how to cope and come to terms with it. Of course, when the Angel of...

Quite honestly, this in my opinion, is the best television series ever to hit the airwaves. Of course, CBS didn't want a quality program like this on the air so what do they do??? They take it off its Sunday night family time-slot where it carried CBS for years!!! They put it on Saturday night, ditched all the promotion behind the program and the show succumbed to low-ratings.

But these two episodes on this video will show you why we need the series on DVD boxed sets. There is a HUGE CHRISTIAN MARKET OUT THERE comprised of individuals and families who enjoy wholesome, inspiring, uplifting and edifying programs. They fill us with garbage like "Sex and the City", "The Sopranos", "Will and Grace" ...typical examples of the wasteland of TV and ignore the good and morally edifying programs like TBAA!

I defy ANYONE who has not seen the 100 episode entitled Psalm 151 to cry their eyes out the first time they watch it. I have watched it countless times since its first airing and it never fails to move me much less make we well up with tears. But, as another reviewer mentioned, they are not tears of depression..they are tears of hope and joy because of this show has made the source of love known to us. That source is God!!

Paramount are you reading this?????? Get the DVD boxed sets out there now....ALL NINE SEASONS!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love shines even through death, August 26, 2001
By
While I find "Touched By an Angel" to generally be the most uplifting show on the air, the 100th episode - "The 151st Psalm" is probably the best they've done. The base story line revolves around a dying child. Despite this seemingly depressing base, I find that I feel good - very good - at the end. Of course, I start from a world view of hope, and I find that this episode reinforces that view. Death isn't the end, only a new beginning, and love IS eternal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very moving and wonderful episode., November 5, 1999
This review is from: Touched By an Angel Collector's Edition, 1st and 100th Episodes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My husband and I watched episode #508, Psalm 151 starring Wynonna Judd last night (Nov 4th) and it brought us to tears. We have been watching TBAA for most of this year and find the show refreshing and heartwarming. With all the sex and violence depicted on most tv programs, it's nice to be able to find something we can enjoy with our young daughters. Thank you TBAA for being available. Keep up the good work and I pray you stay on "forever". God bless all of you who are a part of putting this show on the air. Psalm 151 (amongst many others of your episodes) are such a joy to watch. We have just ordered it to include in our video library. Thanks again.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very touching episode..., April 7, 1999

This review is from: Touched By an Angel Collector's Edition, 1st and 100th Episodes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"touched by an angel" was so aptly named, for this show ,more than any in television history, has touched so many lives...and this, their 100th episode, is no exception. "psalms 151" is one of the finest moments in television history and i'm very glad the producers had the wisdom to release it on video. Special guest Wynonna gives a beautifully heart-wrenching performance as a mother of a dying child. After this, maybe Ashley won't be the only acting judd in the house. Ben Cross, of the film "Wide Awake", gives another splendid performance, and of course, roma downey & della reese give their usual angelic displays. But the one who always seems to be forgotten, is given a prime example of his extroidinary prescence. John Dye, who plays the angel Andrew, is spotlighted quite a bit in this episode, and for those, who in the past, have ignored his contribution, you won't ever again. his performance alone will have you cryin'. But make sure to bring along a couple of extra boxes of tissues, because the writing is so beautiful, and the directing is so magnificant, with subtle moments that are so poignant, you will be just a ball of wet by the end. The sayng "less-is-more" is often ignored in hollywood, as well as in life. But once you've been "touched"...

5.0 out of 5 stars How Can Anyone Ever Doubt the Awesome Power of God?, August 27, 2001
By
Michael Luchka (Scarborough, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
To say "I Love this video" would not totally express what is bursting inside me. When I first saw "Psalm 151", I cried, I laughed, I was sad and I was overjoyed. The performances are fantastic! Featuring WYNNONA, a cameo by CELINE DION and two adorable children - the regular cast shines - this is a wonderful example of the power of God's messengers - his angels. The script is brilliant and inspiring. The songs uplifting and the ending...wow...how can anyone ever doubt the awesome power of God? This is a must video for all "T by an A" fans and a must-see for anyone who doubts that "God Loves You."

5.0 out of 5 stars Wanted! "Touched By An Angel" DVD boxed set, May 10, 2004
By A Customer
I loved "Touched By An Angel" from the beginning. I had recorded episodes sent to me while stationed in Haiti with the Army in 1996. There was discussion at the time about cancelling the show. Public outcry helped to save the show. Had that not happened, there wouldn't have been a "151st Psalm" episode (the 100th episode) that's been mentioned in so many of the previous reviews. The audience is here, the demand is here, only the supply is missing. Release this series on DVD. You won't be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars What TV should be, December 25, 2004
I have watched many many episodes of Touched By An Angel because the writing is original, to the point, sensitive and poignant. The actors/actresses do an excellent job portraying their characters as well. I bought this video after seeing the episode on tv and bawling my eyes out. I have since shown it and lent it out to many people and they all have returned it with gratitude and just gushing about the show. This particular episode ' The 151st Psalm' is beautifully written, acted, and portrayed. There are emotions and words captured in such a way that is not often seen in theatrics. I believe the only way you could feel such 'real' emotion is if you experienced these happenings first hand. I suppose in a way that is what this show has done, is allow you a firsthand glimpse and to experience it, step into it, without having to actually feel the pain or gladness. You simply cannot get more real. I am in my late 20's and I and my child connect with this episode in much the same ways that people in their 30's to well over 50 I have shared this with have. It is a timeless episode as well as program to watch over and over. Wynonna Judd is captivating playing the dying child's mother. Who knew she was as good an actress as singer? A must have even for non-fans. I highly recommend it. It caringly addresses the issues of dying and the feelings associated with it as well as finding the light of God through such a dark time. I found it quite helpful as there is much wisdom in its script about the will of God being victorious and what is best even if it's not what someone may want. I have watched alot of television, and this is simply in the top 10 of best episodes of any show ever to be broadcast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Not on DVD?, February 16, 2003
By
"boneyard3" (Long Beach, California USA) - See all my reviews
Sorry, but I'm going to vent a little. Why in blazes does idiotic drivel like "American Idol", "The Real World", or "Sex and the City" pop right onto DVD, while marvelous things like "Touched" languish on a dying format (VHS)?
A bit of an outrage.
I have been watching "Touched" for years, and have wondered when we might see just one episode that would dip into corny writing, a lapse in good acting, etc, and it never has happened. Just a great show every time. It is the only reason we turn the TV on.

This review is from: Touched By an Angel Collector's Edition, 1st and 100th Episodes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This episode of Touched by an Angel was the most incredible one I've seen yet! Wynonna is not only an amazing singer, but also an unbelievable actress. In this episode she gave an excellent performance of a mother of a terminally ill boy, and she did a wonderful job! I cried throughout the entire episode, and I would watch it again and again. This is not one that should be missed by anyone!
