If books are obsolete, no one's told the TV honchos: half the current series have issued tie-in volumes this year. Williamson, executive producer and frequent writer of CBS' unexpectedly succesful Touched by an Angel, uses three types of material in her celebration of the show. Part one describes a practical "miracle" --the fact the show got on the air, stayed on the air, and found a broad enough audience to earn top-10 ratings. In part two, coauthor Sheets offers short-story versions of four scripts written or cowritten by Williamson: "Interview with an Angel," "There, but for the Grace of God," "An Unexpected Snow," and "Jacob's Ladder." The third section supplies brief profiles of stars Roma Downey, Della Reese, and John Dye. Response from viewers is scattered throughout the book. Fans will be thrilled to find credits appended for the nearly 50 episodes aired by December 22, 1996: each includes episode title, initial airdate, author (and source author where applicable), director, and guest actors and their characters' names. Touched by an Angel truly is a wonderful gift to the world, and this book captures the love, hope, and faith by which it came to be. From humble beginnings to a nationwide following, this book tells of the struggle it made to survive in its first few seasons, gives short stories of a few wonderful episodes from the first few seasons, and reveals a bit about the cast. I reccomend this book to anyone who loves Touched by an Angel, and anyone who doesn't.

This book is excelent. This wounderfully written book tells of how the show came about, gives several actaul stories (which comes in handy for those of us who haven't seen the first couple seaons of TBAA), and tells how the "little show that could did"! It is a wounderful book to go with a marvelous show!
