A Judyful Review Of Touched By Angels Of Mercy.,
By Judith M. Cook, R. N., B. A. aka Judyful (Cedar Knolls, New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Touched by Angels of Mercy: Small Doses of Genuine Life by Nurses, Patients and Caregivers (Paperback)
This book is captivating from the very first page. I did not want to put it down and became totally absorbed reading the wonderful, compassionate, unique and stimulating short stories, poems and amusing cartoons. This collection of heartwarming and uplifting stories is especially significant to read and enjoy after what our country has been through since September 11, 2001.We have all been deeply influenced or touched by Angels Of Mercy sometime in our life and this book touched my heart and emotions in the most amazing and satisfying ways. It is the ideal gift to give to a friend or family member or especially to bring to someone who is in the hospital as a patient or a worker. Laura Lagana has captured the essence of humanity and I doubt that anyone will remain the same after reading this timeless book. I know it has changed my outlook on life in a positive way.

This review is from: Touched by Angels of Mercy: Small Doses of Genuine Life by Nurses, Patients and Caregivers (Paperback)
I salute Laura Lagana for her timely efforts in producing this book. Now more than ever, during the nursing shortage, nurses need to be reminded of the contribution that they make and feel their caring efforts are not in vain. This collection of stories is a valuable asset to the nursing community as well as the consumer. It includes real-life stories of events and emotions that were experienced by nurses, families, and friends. Nurses need to read this book to remind themselves of the power of their caring and to share in the feedback from the stories that validate their practice and encourage them to continue their selfless dedication to a demanding profession. Consumers need to read this book to get a first-hand look at just what nursing is, what nurses do, and feel the power of it's impact on the lives of those nurses care for through these touching stories. Laura Lagana did a superb job at providing a cross section of stories that touch the heart and foster healing. I encourage everyone to read this book and/or show your support of nursing by giving this book as a gift to a nurse. THANK YOU Laura!

This book is a wonderful collection of testimonials. Some stories are written by nurses, some by patients, some by family member of nurses. These stories are from patients or nurses from all walks of life. Some have faced fear, anger, regret, grief, failure or broken dreams. They have overcome with God's help. This book would be a great gift for someone who is ill, or depressed. It is so inspirational.

Touched by Angels of Mercy will comfort you and warm your heart. These stories of compassion offer an extended hand, a tissue, a hug. Written by those working in the trenches, nurses and caregivers, and by patients and family members who have been on the receiving end of these ministrations, these stories are guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Small doses of genuine life, from nurses, patients and caregivers, that touch the heart and foster healing. These are the beautiful and often untold stories of the sacredness and joy of everyday life for a nurse/caregiver. A must read for anyone who is a nurse by profession or by duty; or has ever considered being a nurse; or anyone who has ever encountered an angel of mercy. Donna Cardillo, RN www.dcardillo.com

Even though I'm not a nurse, it was interesting to see things through their eyes throughout these stories. The book was positive, warm and a good choice for my quiet moments.
