"Is it requiring steps of faith" is the fourth question in the six-question method for spiritual discernment in my book (Direction: Discernment for the Decisions of Your Life) so I read Fran's book with speacial interest. If you've ever wondered what "walking in faith" looks like in real ife, Touching the Clouds is a book for you. You'll be challenged and encouraged in your faith-walk, and with the faith-lifters at the end of each chapter, you'll also learn how to make faith your dominant stride. This is a book I'm recommending to all who attend my retreats and day seminars, and it is a book you'll want to buy for all of your friends.

Fran Caffey Sandin has done a wonderful job of putting together very important short pieces to address the things that plague Christians and non-Christians alike, and each different piece gives hope in the Lord for each different difficult scenario.

After reading I sent the book on to a young man who is a family friend. His brother just committed suicide and this will help him to know that others have had to deal with the same issues he is with regards to his loss.

Way to go Fran et al!

In these uplifting stories, Fran Sandin captured the extraordinary faith of each ordinary woman. However, she allowed us to see that this same power, love, and faith in God that sustained each one through some incredible circumstances are available to everyone. Her Biblical and practical helps following each chapter brought further credibility and motivation for me to keep "touching the clouds" no matter what happens in life. Great book!"

In "Touching The Clouds," author Fran Caffey Sandin promises "encouraging stories to lift your faith" -- and that's exactly what she delivers. Each story is shared by the woman who lived it -- the woman who overcame the death of a spouse, the loss of a job, the heartbreak of infertility, the pain of physical or emotional wounds. What makes this book so unique and different from other compilations is the personal application. Every chapter ends with a section entitled "In Her Shoes," inviting the reader to consider how her experiences compare -- how she might relate to the woman in the story. "In His Word" provides Scriptures that address the problem or crisis presented in the story. "In Your Life" offers practical suggestions to help the reader apply the Biblical truths to her own struggles. So many compilation books are content to give readers a warm, fuzzy feeling -- no matter how contrived. These true stories are deeply moving. But they do much more than inspire. They challenge and motivate the reader to experience a deeper walk of faith.

I found "Touching The Clouds" a wonderful book of encouragement and faith. The stories in it are so uplifting and touching and it relates to so many different situations that we all face in our lives. It would make a great gift for family or friend and an excellent lift that truly will make your faith soar!
