This is a 'must have' resource for anyone who is teaching children in any capacity. Especially if you are finding your teaching experience to be a struggle. This book is a condensed version of the childhood development material that I am studying through the local college. It gives you a guideline of what to look for to determine personality and how these personalities like to learn. This book promotes building children up with encouragement. It also has sections on nurturing, communication and discipline that are based on a Biblical foundation, as is the entire book. What I like most about this book is that it has "Inner Direction" questions at the end of each chapter enabling you to evaluate yourself. In turn, becoming aware of areas you can implement the information you have just read about to become a more effective teacher. Afterall, what good does it do just to read information without a conscious effort on how you will implement it? I have implemented many of the principles and ideas from this book and have found my teaching experience to more pleasant. I have gained a wealth of knowledge, through this book, in UNDERSTANDING myself and the children I work with.

I was so inspired by Ms Capeheart's book, Touching Hearts. It gave me a new found appreciation and inspiration for my ministry to children.
