Format: Audio CD
Ever since I ran into this album in 1991, I've been fascinated with this band. Although in later albums they've taken a decided turn to a softer, kinder, pop sound, this album shows punk grit mixed with a very high-brow sensibility. Their combination of drum rhythms and violin is not original, its downright enthrallingly beautiful (rumor has it it isn't a violin, but a traditional Hawaiian instrument). If you're into intelligent punk, try it out. These guys are the Pixies' lost second cousins.
