5.0 out of 5 stars really good bag
I have been away from golf for ten years, and my old bones couldn't handle hoisting my clubs onto my back and carrying them around, even with the shoulder harness Izzo bag I bought in 2000. So I bought a new Clicgear 3.0 push cart and this Tour Edge GeoMax cart bag. Both of them are outstanding products, and together they are a winning combination. The GeoMax bag is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok for the price
I just got this bag and transfered everything into it. I haven't even used it for a round yet but my initial impression is it's an ok bag for the price if you're looking for a bag to seperate your clubs. The main club shell is a hard plastic so the club shaft area won't collapse(not that I found that an issue with my previous Callaway carry bag). The single carry strap...

5.0 out of 5 stars really good bag, August 18, 2010

I have been away from golf for ten years, and my old bones couldn't handle hoisting my clubs onto my back and carrying them around, even with the shoulder harness Izzo bag I bought in 2000. So I bought a new Clicgear 3.0 push cart and this Tour Edge GeoMax cart bag. Both of them are outstanding products, and together they are a winning combination. The GeoMax bag is light enough for a more energetic person to carry around the course but sturdy enough to ride on a cart without deforming. I am particularly happy with the large number of zipper pockets on the bag, especially the insulated one that will hold three half-liter bottles of water. I don't carry my cell phone with me on the course, but the cell phone pocket handles my wallet, keys, and watch perfectly. The umbrella sleeve works well, but I live in the desert and won't have much use for it. The product description (for the stand bag, apparently) says it has an eight-way divider, but it actually has fourteen separate compartments. My only criticism is that I would be happier if the dividers went all the way to the bottom of the bag.

My wife was so impressed with the bag that I bought another one for her...in purple.

I love my Tour Edge GeoMax Cart Bag. My previous bags were stand up bags and I wanted a bag with club dividers and a cooler pocket.

This bag is just what I wanted. It is light and the pockets are convenient. I wanted a bag with individual club slots including a large slot for my putter with the over sized grip. It's good looking as well.

The single carry strap hides away nicely down the back of the bag so won't be in the way when on a walking or riding cart. I do like the exterior hard plastic putter tube but I suspect if you use an oversize grip like K. J. Choi your putter may not fit in it.

Some of the shortcomings I've noticed right away:

1. As stated in one other review the dividers to not go to the bottom of the bag. In fact at most the 'divider' section is about 2 inches down from the top. I'll probably look into getting some full length plastic tube dividers on my own. I suspect if used on a push cart the grips/shafts will rub against each other enough to make removal and insertion of clubs less smooth than if the dividers went all the way to the bottom of the bag.

2. There is only one d-ring for clip-on accessories such as towels and that ring is inconveniently located on the right side directly over the 'valuables' pocket. I typically carry three towels on my bag, a balzee club cleaner, a terry towel for club faces and a terry towel for my hands and grips. Along with that I also have a little zip pouch for tees, a club brush/cleaner, and two eyeglass cases. All of this won't fit on the single side d-ring and if it did the location would still be inconvenient as well as blocking access to the pocket directly below it. I'm seriously considering installing my own somewhere on the front with either a rivet or grommet tool. This is also the only place on the bag with velcro for holding a glove. Not a huge deal but will probably adhere some velcro on my own somewhere around the front handle of the bag.

3. I suppose the insulated drink cooler is a nice idea but since there is no other convenient place for my sunscreen, advil, first aid kit and other oddments I won't be able to use it for it's intended purpose.

4. At the top of each side garment compartment is a small velour lined zippered small pouch. I suppose these are for extra tees, ball markers, divot tools and any other small accessories you may carry as well as their stated purpose as 'valuable pockets'. But IMHO the opening is located in such a way that access is not that easy and it may take some digging to find what you want from them.

5. Because of the hard plastic inner shell the side garment compartments don't expand very far. I've never been one to carry much there anyway so for me that's not a big issue, just something I noticed.

6. The top carry handle is constructed out of velour lined canvas material which is fine but is not open at the bottom making carrying by that handle alone awkward.

7. The product description states an "oversized ball pocket" but it actually holds fewer balls than my Costco Callaway carry bag. It still holds upwards of twenty balls; but again, a discrepancy I noticed.

In summary this is still a nice bag for the price and I'm sure I'll either overcome or get used to the above listed initial impressions of it's shortcomings. Shipping was actually ahead of schedule (ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday) and packaging was up to Amazon standard.
