5.0 out of 5 stars Cute and little
These are definitely small, but that is what we wanted (it's about the size of a shot glass). My 2 year old can easily hold them because of the little ring on it. And she can finish the popsicle before it starts to melt. When she gets a little older we will want to get larger ones, but for now, this is perfect. If you run it under hot water for just a couple seconds,...

3.0 out of 5 stars these are cute, love the size, one broke on day 2!
I love the size of these. My 3.5 year old can wear it on her thumb! And she can eat it before it melts all over which i love. They are all different shapes and the one with the most accordion folds broke before i popped it out today. And we've only had them for 2 days!

If you run it under hot water for just a couple seconds, the popcicle will release quickly. We did already break one, but can't blame the product...my husband accidentally stepped on it ;-)

This item could be dangerous to young toddlers if they swallow the broken ring stems. We had three broken ring stems before molds were a week old. Called Tovolo and they would not stand behind their product. They said send them back where you bought them and pay return shipping. They didn't care if I purchased them again or not. Customer service at that company is a joke.

These pops are a great size for little kids- not too big but the plastic part that goes inside the pop broke off on several of mine as I was taking them out in the first week I had them! While I like the size the plastic is very weak and not worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little molds, August 11, 2009

I purchased 4 different types of molds for my kids (ages 4-7) and these are their favorite! The larger molds offered by tovolo appear to be a better quality but they are much to big for younger kids, they can never seem to finish them (which is a huge waste of $$$ since I'm using only organic fruit for ingredients).

I was so excited to purchase this product for the summer months. I loved the ring design and especially loved the size of each pop...not too big or small. I was so dissapointed the first time I used the pops as three of the pops broke as I was taking them out of the tray; much tothe dismay of the room full of 2-4 year-olds I had watching. Love the idea of product but hated the product.

2.0 out of 5 stars I wanted small, but not THIS small!!, April 8, 2011

I wanted reasonably sized molds to make some homemade foren yogurt/fruit pops for my 2 year old. In their photo, these looked to be an appropriate size (she doesn't need a huge popscicle!) But when i opened the box, I couldn't believe how TINY these molds are!! Now, it's still a good size for young children (although I think even my daughter could eat 2 of these easily at a time!), but the annoying thing is, I would literally have to only make up maybe one cup's worth of yogurt/fruit puree at a time! That's ridiculous! If i'm going to the trouble to make a batch of puree in my blender, I want to at least have more than 1 cup's worth! What a waste of time otherwise. So, I'll either have to by probably 2 or even 3 more of these trays to make it worth my while, or just buy a larger set that holds more liquid. I didn't see fluid ounces in the description, but upon looking closer, i now see that they had that info in the shipping dimensions (?!) (only 0.8 ounces!). Otherwise, they look nice, and having separate pieces is convenient for thawing only what you need... But plan on buying a few trays if you want to blend more than 6 ounces at a time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Handle broke easily but sent free replacements!, August 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

We bought this model and the Green Star molds as well. These jewel's handles seem to be of thinner plastic than the green stars handles. Also, unlike the green star handle (which is one solid piece), the jewel handles are made from 2 interlocking pieces of plastic. Within the first day one became broken. Then one of the tabs on the bottom of the mold cup (the piece that allows it to clip on the tray) broke!

I called Tovolo (check their website for the number), quickly spoke with a live rep, and they politely sent out free replacements! I am very happy with this smaller popsicle mold - it's really perfect for the little ones. Just enough for a snack. My only caution is that you must run them under HOT water for a few seconds to loosen the treat inside. If you twist or pull by the handle - it will break. The best removal method is after running under hot water, I squeeze the mold gently with my fist and then using my thumbs, I push the circle cap off instead of using the handle to pull it out. Works every time!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Shape Molds!, August 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tovolo Freezer Jewel Pop Molds, Set of 6 (Kitchen)
All summer we have been making popsicles in my Micky Mouse molds by Tupperware. Homemade popicles can be much healthier than those bought in stores and you can add lots of healthy ingredients without the kids even knowing! My kids love homemade popsicles and I wanted something a little more fun than the original one that I purchased. These molds are really great. There are several fun shapes and my daughter loves that they look like jewels. Keep in mind that they are small. So if you are looking for something for younger toddler aged children I would definitely recommend this item. If you are looking for something larger I would recommend the larger star shaped mold that Tovolo makes -- I purchased those as well. Also, the popsicles don't slide out really easily (and are even harder to get out than the larger ones because they are so small) but if you run them under warm water for a few seconds that usually does the trick. As long as you only do it for 10 seconds it won't melt the popsicle, but rather just make it loose enough to slide out without needing the strength of three people to help you get it out! :)
