Affordable and portable,

This review is from: Tovolo In-Mug Tea Infuser, Green (Kitchen)
Pros:
Portable, great for work or on-the-go Unique base doubles as drip catcher and lets you store anywhere, on desk or countertop Easily adapts to any size mug or tea pot Simple to clean - just rinse under running water Lower price than many other tea infusers Cons: Large mesh screen allows more sediment through Unlike Bodum's stainless steel infuser, this is steel and plastic - less sturdy

I had always used the ball type infuser before and it was hard to get those big leaved teas in there without the stems and such keeping it open a bit. This infuser makes it all so easy for the klutzes of the world.
If you want to make two cups there's enough room in there for the needed amount of tea.

The Tovolo In-Mug Tea Infuser, Green works well enough. However, the problem I have with it is that the holes at the bottom are too big. Consequently there is about a quarter of an inch of tea I have to throw out because it is full of tea leaves. I had an infuser that worked wonderfully until it broke. It was a chemistry beaker that had the bottom cut out and replaced with a set of three filters. The leaves stayed in the beaker while the tea stayed in the cup. I lost the contact information for that product or that is what I would have bought.

Handy for making high quality tea for one or at work!,

I bought this tea infuser recently on a whim so I could have good quality tea at work instead of relying on all the tea bags. My husband and I still make pots of tea at home with our tea pot with the built-in tea infuser, but this is great for me at work. I have my bag of high quality green jasmine pearls on my desk along with this. It's so easy and convenient! My boss wasn't sure what the thing was at first, but it was a great topic for conversation.

Mesh too large and tips over,
By Matt the Techie (Suburban NYC, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tovolo In-Mug Tea Infuser, Green (Kitchen)
Received this as a present, and am disappointed. The mesh is too large and allows lots of tea out, and the round bottom causes it to tip over in my favorite very large and shallow mug, unlike the ones with flat bottoms. Looks cool, but doesn't work well.

Let through too much leaf debris,
By jabbott (TX) - See all my reviews

I was disappointed when I tried using this with a couple kinds of black and green loose leaf tea. It always let too much leaf debris pass through the holes, so I returned it.

tea infuser,

I bought one of these and it is not as good as some of the other ones. It lets sediment through when I brew the tea. I only use it when my others are in the dish washer.

Don't Buy This One...,
This review is from: Tovolo In-Mug Tea Infuser, Green (Kitchen)
Purchased one of these and in less than 6 months of occasional use, with gentle hand washing, it crazed and cracked, on top, in multiple places. Now it is in the trash. What a waste of money! Also, had an annoying problem with a moderate amount of tea leave bits swimming through the holes into my cup, when using anything less than whole leaf tea. This was mostly due to the fact that the holes on the bottom were too large. The mesh was two pieces welded together which had a very sharp edge on the outside. Also, tea leave bits would get caught there and be difficult to clean out, at times. And it didn't fit every mug; if these problems were fixed, it would have been okay. Very disappointed, would not buy this one again.

If you like the flavor of loose tea better, this is a decent infuser. I'm able to brew my morning cuppa' directly into my travel mug and that has been a treat. However, you will end up with sediment on the bottom of the cup, because the holes are too large for most loose teas. It could be a better product if a finer mesh was used.
I got this as my fourth free item in the Amazon 4-for-3 promotion because I had three things I wanted and might as well get a free item to boot. I've used it quite a bit more than I expected, and have found that the sediment doesn't bother me too much. The drip cup underneath is a nice feature.

Terrible,

I could have done a better job keeping the tea leaves out of my tea with a spaghetti strainer. The holes in the bottom of this infuser are far too large for herbal or smaller leaf teas. It might work okay for whole-leaf green and white teas though...I haven't bothered trying.
