5.0 out of 5 stars Good and sturdy.
I like the shape. I like the handles. I like that it is sturdy. I like the size, although was disappointed it wasn't quite as big as my old strainer that could easily handle two boxes of pasta - this holds about 1 1/2 boxes. It drains everything quite well (nice large holes, but the design keeps solid objects inside). The color is also quite nice.

One note...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sits too low in the sink
This colander works well, except it sits too low, maybe only 1/4" from the bottom of the bowl to the surface below. If draining a huge pot of pasta, the water gets backed up in the sink and the pasta is basically sitting in water that has also touched the sink for a few seconds -- gross! Am buying a replacement.

One note is that it does sit low to the surface it is on. While the bottom part appears that it would raise it off the surface, it curves on the inside to skim the surface, and not really rise above it much at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy, September 19, 2007

This colander is great for rinsing pretty much anything: veggies, berries, salad greens. It has also been successful in draining larger pastas. The holes are not very small so smaller pastas like orzo would probably fall right through.
Overall the colander is very durable and the best thing is it won't ever rust like the metal colanders do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy to have it in the kitchen, January 24, 2007
For some reason, I thought that maybe this colander was a flexible, folding rubber/plastic, but fortunately this wasn't the case!
On pulling it out of the box, I was surprised and impressed with the whole-colander look of it, with all the drainage holes, the color, and the feel. It has a good weight, supported nicely by the handles. And especially, it has enough of a diameter to really be functional for draining all usual things in the kitchen.
I hope it's indestructible, as it "sounds" a little fragile on knocking the counter with it, almost like knocking a glass, but it's supposed to be an awesome kind of plastic, so what else would you need in a colander?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it.., March 25, 2008
This is a wonderful product. I was looking for a nice size colander to use for washing my fruits and veggies and I decided to try this one. I absolutely love this one. The holes are perfect for draining anything from pasta to veggies. Also the size and durability is terrific for the price. I also loved the color it brightens up my kitchen. If you are looking for a great durable colander I would highly recomend this one..

I am very pleased with this colander because it is so easy to clean and durable. The handles offer a secure grip. I usually hesitate to put plastic in the dishwasher, but this does just fine.

I bought this expecting a flimsy plastic colander. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a plastic colander, but it's a nice, heavy, rugged plastic colander.

This is a good size colander for draining pasta or just for rinsing your fruits or vegetables. It's a handy item when you are preparing a meal or snack. I especially love the color, too.
