5.0 out of 5 stars Deep and inspiring, October 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Toward Jerusalem (Paperback)
Amy Carmichaels's collection of poetry is breathtaking. In Towards Jerusalem, Miss Carmichael shares her deep love for the Lord through her writings. They have a lyrical flow that helps you grasp the "bigger picture" of life and love. Poems such as "In Acceptence Lieth Peace" calmed and soothed my soul, and indeed did help me to see where peace shall come from. Her poems range in topic from Life issues to Love issues, but are all Christ-Centered. I was deeply touched and inspired. A good companion to read along with Towards... is: Candles in the Dark, another one of Miss Carmichaels inspiring books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Truth, October 10, 2005
This review is from: Toward Jerusalem (Paperback)
I cannot recommend this book highly enough! I purchased it originally because I had seen it quoted several times in several books by Elisabeth Elliot(I would also recommend any and all of her books to anyone)and also by her late husband Jim in the book The Journals of Jim Elliot (also a great book). She was such a huge spiritual influence on the both of them and now I know why. I can't even put it into words!! These poems are so well written and they flow so well but they're also so amazingly full of God-given truth that I'm surprised it fits on the pages at all! I've been so incredibly blessed by the little bit that I've read of this book so far and I can't wait to read the rest! If you're thinking about reading this book don't hesitate- get it and let your heart move that much closer to Christ as you read Mrs. Carmichael's amazing book Toward Jerusalem.
