Bela Bartok once called one of his compositions "The Miraculous Mandarin" and in my opinion there are two miraculous composers in symbolism, Erik Satie and Alexander Scriabin. Scriabin (1872 - 1915), a synesthetic musician with a metaphysical vision that he couldn´t realize unfortunately, was very influential for many composers like Messiaen, Prokofiev or Stravinsky and he also influenced the band THE FRACTURED DIMENSION, consisting of Jimmy Pitts ((prerared) piano and keyboards), Jerry Twyford (bass guitar) and Alex Arellano (drums and percussion). Ron Jarzombek, Marcel Coenen and Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschlager (guitar solos) among others as well as Jim Shannon (trumpet), Joe Deninzon (violin), Joshua Thomson (alto sax) and Mike Prescott (tabla tarang) played as guest musicians on this recording. Pitts and Twyford were members of avant-garde death metal band SCHOLOMANCE and Arellano was the drummer of the progressive metal heroes POWER OF OMENS. Most of the compositions are by Jimmy Pitts - they are a colorful mix of jazz, contemporary classical and rock music orchestrated in a Zappa mode: Chamber rock in a totally unique vibe, completely different to bands like UNIVERSE ZERO. Only four living drummers would have been able to play these constantly changing, often ostinato-based rhythms in such a creative and musical way: Joachim Fuchs-Charrier, Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman and Alex Arellano. Alex plays "lead drums" all the time similar to Rick Colaluca (WATCHTOWER). Furthermore he reminds me of Barriemore Barlow´s tasteful drumming on the JETHRO TULL song "Heavy Horses" - this track is exemplary for Barriemore´s playing in unison with the melodic instruments. Jimmy and Jerry are also technical wizards on their instruments with a great sense of musical structures so one can say this trio plays highly complex music with a deeply emotional expression - a real quantum jump for the music of the 21th century and a guiding light for followers! I think it makes no sense to describe the music on "Towards The Mysterium" any further - this music implicates the mystery of tonality and every try of a detailed description would be nonsense... Discover the sound of the post-avant-garde! Labels like Cuneiform, Musea, Mals or Unicorn shouldn´t hesitate to sign this band with a pioneer spirit of radio!!! --Frank Bender/ Ragazzi Zine

Modern compositional concepts and intensity of rhythm: that is what one can expect from this difficult to define group. High caliber musicianship, and a vast array of contorted theoretical concepts abound. Not technical for the sake of being technical, but extremely musical for the sake of transcending normality. The Fractured Dimension is made up of Alex Arellano on drums/percussion, Jerry Twyford on bass, and Jimmy Pitts on keyboards and piano. Ron Jarzombek, Marcel Coenen, Mikhal Caldwell, Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschlaeger, Aaron Roten (Super String Theory), Bill Bruce (ex-Shotgun Messiah), Brev Sullivan, and Brad Hull (Soblivios, ex-Forced Entry) will all be featured on guitar, along with Jim Shannon (trumpet), Joe Deninzon (violin), and Joshua Thomson (sax)--so expect some serious firepower to be unleashed. With their debut album, Towards the Mysterium, The Fractured Dimension unravel the boundaries between progressive rock and metal, jazz fusion, world music, and the avant garde, as they set their sites on a music belonging to the future.
