5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books on the market on towel origami, May 29, 2007
This review is from: Towel Folding 101 (Discover the Wonderful World of Towel Origami) (Hardcover)
This is by far one of the best produced books on the market on towel origami. BEAUTIFUL photographs of towel folding in action. The creations, for the most part, look like what they are supposed to be. So many other books on the market have towel origami animals in them that don't look a think like what they are supposed to be. Having all the towel origami books out there (as far as I know) this one is on the top of my list. Can't beat the price for this hardcover quality book.

This being said, I still find learning towel origami by the DVDs on the market the easier way to go. I need to see it explained rather than just read it. If you would rather learn by reading text and seeing still photos and not moving video I'd suggest this book. Well done!

4.0 out of 5 stars Towel origami, January 29, 2009
This review is from: Towel Folding 101 (Discover the Wonderful World of Towel Origami) (Hardcover)
I am in the accommodation industry and I found a few ideas for towel folding that look different, guests notice, but they are quick and easy to construct, which is important to me. The instructions are concise and some of the designs are quite imaginative. I am near a beach so make crabs from pink/red towels and use small seashells for eyes. Looks great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Made a Great Gift, October 15, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Towel Folding 101 (Discover the Wonderful World of Towel Origami) (Hardcover)
I bought this as a gift for my niece, who had just moved to a new apartment. I used the book as an excuse to buy her towels. As a child, she had learned to fold napkins in intricate ways, so I knew that towel folding would appeal to her. Another reviewer said that this was the book for those who work on cruise ships and need to learn to fold towels; that observation was convinced me to buy the book and was accurate.

The only problem, for a non-cruise-ship folder, is that many of the animals require a beach towel or two -- and that the photos show some of the animals made with patterened beach towels that probably aren't easily available. I bought a couple of bath sheets for my niece with the hope that they might stand in for beach towels.

The directions are clear and the photos are helpful.

By the way, the two penguins on the cover of the book are made with face cloths and are the only animals in the book that are made solely with face cloths.
