Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-up of 9/11

Five years ago and still in the news? This is because the issues are painful and because there is stillso much suffering arising out of the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Much healing has yet to happen. Conspiracy theorists have had a wonderful time with 9/11: 'The CIA did it,' 'It is Reichstag 9/11,' and so on, but if you speak to many Americans in this vein they still respond with pain and then outrage or simply, rage.

There have been a number of books written about 9/11 and there will be another two released in October of this year. So why this one?

Zwicker is not a conspiracy theorist, rather he lays out Exhibits - twenty-six of ehem - about lines of evidence which, if proven (even a few of them), point inescapably to the conclusion of White House complicity in the 9/11 disaster. He talks about conspiracy theory, arguing his points with extraordinarily detailed (and footnoted) research. The book, very well written, finely illustrated, and difficult to put down, tells a story most of us have never heard because the media have not given it coverage. Contained with the book is a DVD: The 9/11 News Special You Never Saw.

According to his reasoning one can come away from the events and the evidence of 9/11 with one of four conclusions: 1) that the Official Story is true: the US at all levels was caught totally by surprise and off guard; or 2) that US agencies received some intelligence but it was either too late or insufficient; or 3) that the intelligence received was sufficient but that the White House for some reason let the events unfold as they did; or 4) that the White House or other US agency set the events up to unfold as they did. He outlines rules of evidence and the evidence iteself very carefully, letting the reader conclude which of the four scenarios is the case, subject to responsible inquiry into the evidence.

Here are some of Zwicker's Exhibits:
A: World Trade Center Building 7, a 47 story steel-framed skyscraper, collapsed due to an admitted controlled demolition on the afternoon of 9/11 after suffering minimal damage due to the collapse of the nearby Two Towers. It contained CIA offices as well as the Mayor of New York's Office of Emergency Management. How, when, and why was this building wired for demolition?

B & F: NORAD's duty is to protect this continent; to this end they practise a great deal, intercepting wayward aircraft about a hundred times a year. since the 1960s the time taken to scramble fighters has varied upward from about five minutes but has always been less than thirty. Why, on 9/11 after the FAA had advised NORAD within five minutes of the first highacking, did it take seventy eight nimutes to get fighters on the scene? Way too late, of course. This has to be the greatest military failure ever on the part of the US!

H: The collapse of the Twin Towers and WTC Building 7 exhibited eleven distinct features of controlled demolition.

I: the WTC Towers were over over-engineered for the possibility of aircraft hitting them, and damage to the central core girders from the actual impacts would have been slight. Also, if the floors of the buildings had really pancaked the central core girders would have remained standing, some of them to high levels; instead they were found in thirty foot lengths - consistent with controlled demolition, and convenient for trucking away.

J: Steel-framed high-rises do not collapse due to fires. There have been several such fires (Los Angeles, 1998; and Philadelphia, 1991; as well as others elsewhere) which burned far longer than shose in the WTC buildings, none of which caused significant structural damage. That the fires in the Towers caused their collapse is preposterous.

K: One firefighter gave an oral report that there were 'popping' sounds as though the building were being demolished. In the North Tower he found heavy damage in the lobby and later heard huge explosions while he was within the Tower. A pamedic also tells about 'popping' sounds as the South Tower collapsed into its footprint; he also likens these sounds to those accompanying a controlled demolition. An engineer far below ground in the North Tower was told of a loud explosion and, as he came up toward ground level witnessed scenes of incredible explosive destruction in places not subject to the aircraft impacts. Other witnesses reported hearing loud explosions, and one other employee working on sub-level one reported a massive explosion from below - before the aircraft impacted.

M: President George W. Bush declared that he had seen the first impacting aircraft on regular TV on 9/11. But that French-shot footage was not available until the next day. In addition, the President, reading to an elementary school class and, knowing America was under attack, should have been removed by the Secret Service; after all he's the President and a target. Yet he remained reading calmly for minutes more; did he have knowledge that he was not a target?

Zwickers detailed Exhibits go on and on, the last one being that a neo-conservative group including, among its members Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, asserted that 'a new Pearl Harbor' would be helpful in realizing plans for the New American Century.

But this book is not simply about conspiracies either: Zwicker goes into considerable detail about how we fool ourselves into believing half-truths and lies, and about how we sort of fill in the dots given information bits and the suggestion of a story that is slanted the way someone wants it. This is a very clear heads-up for every single one of us, the Official Story of 9/11 being just a sample, not only of how it is done to us, but also of how we do it to ourselves.

Why do the media not give the real truth to the public? Is this a scandal the scope of which is so devastating as to be the equivalent of war?

Why should we want to pursue this investigation into the truth behind the events of 9/11 - it is because we want to and need to come out of that denial which is such a prominent feature of Western Life. With denial, healing is impossible; coming out of denial, healing although painful becomes possible. Towers of Deception can be a very disturbing book to read and whether you come away believing as some do that Bush and Rumsfeld should be tried for treason is not the point: the point is to wake up. And that is why this review has been written.

This is perhaps the most important lie that has ever been put upon the world and Barrie Zwicker does an excellent job in showing that this is business as usual for the shadow government running the show. Zwicker gives examples of other false flag operations that have plagued humanity and 9/11 is only the latest.

For those of you who still believe that Osama did it (and perhaps that Santa Clause is busy making toys at the North Pole) this book is a jaw dropping presentation of how they pulled off a giant psychological operation and how the media became the cheerleaders.

As mentioned in Barrie Zwicker's work.... How would it be possible - unless there was deliberate paralysis -- that not a single US Air Force interceptor would turn a wheel until it was too late, during a drama in the skies on 9/11, of almost two hours? Sixty-seven times in the previous year fighters were scrambled in minutes for lesser emergencies.

Why have media never challenged President Bush's claim that he saw, on ordinary TV, the first plane hit the WTC? Footage of the first plane hitting was not aired until the next day, September 12th, 2001. Why haven't the media asked Bush about his magic TV?

Why did Larry Silverstein, the lease holder on the World Trade Center, publicly admit he was involved in a decision to "pull" WTC building 7 late on the afternoon of 9/11, even though the building was not hit by a plane and suffered little damage? Controlled demolitions require weeks of preparation: why have media pointedly ignored this glaring anomaly?

In Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11 Zwicker provides readers with 26 "Exhibits" of evidence proving beyond a reasonable doubt that 9/11 was an inside job, what's known as a "false flag operation." In a false flag operation, an attack is self-inflicted in order to mobilize the public against a designated enemy. Eighteen such operations are described in Towers of Deception. They include the non-existent attack on American destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964.
This "attack" provided justification for the Vietnam War, costing 58,000 US lives and 3-million Vietnamese lives.

The phenomenon of denial is also explored and there are 16 profiles of fearless investigators who have exposed the fraud of the official story. Also included with the book is a powerful documentary on DVD, entitled The Great Conspiracy: The 9/11 News Special You Never Saw, produced by the author.

Towers of Deception is one of four scholarly works published in recent months which put forward a logical, reasoned, well sourced and documented theory that the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001 (9/11) were not the work of fanatical Muslims who hate `America, Freedom Liberty etc. etc.'. The attacks were orchestrated and intricately planned by a cabal within the Political-Intelligence-Military-Media-Financial-Corporate-Complex (PIMMFCC) via their various `moles' Cheny, Rumsfeld, and Blair et al. Amongst those that have studied all the available evidence, this theory is termed MIHOP (Made It Happen On Purpose). The motive for committing of this terror is that of control; to exercise full spectrum dominance. This is full spectrum dominance over the entire globe, its inhabitants and the totality of their affairs (economic, military, political, theological, scientific etc.)

The other books which can be accorded this title of scholarly work published recently are Synthetic Terror Made in the USA by Webster Tarpley, Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11 by David Ray Griffin and The Terror Conspiracy by Jim Marrs.

Some of these policies were outlined in the document (now widely publicised), produced by the neo-con think-tank, `Project for a New American Century' entitled `Rebuilding America's Defences'. Other policies are openly exemplified by the attitudes western (US & European) PIMMFCC in their daily modus-operandi.

Barry Zwicker's book at 400 pages (including 28 pages reference/notes section and 7 page index) differs from the fore mentioned scholarly works in many ways. Four of the most important in my opinion are this:
1. The evidence that 9/11 was in fact an inside job and planned and made to happen, is not presented by an endless recitation of anomalies (smoking guns) which expose the official 9/11 "government conspiracy theory" as a fraud. Barry Zwicker presents this evidence as a series of 26 illustrated and methodically described exhibits (A-Z). Anyone reading, who is sceptical can therefore immediately form a `de facto opinion', rather than simply an `opinion'. The latter simple `opinion' is based simply on the misinformation and repetitive parroting of the `official government conspiracy theory'.
2. As a respected journalist and broadcaster Barry Zwicker examines to reasons as to why there has been a media-blackout and media cover-up of the evidence that contradicts the official 9/11 `government conspiracy theory' exposing it as a completely contradictory fraud from beginning to end. The book covers in depth the excuses given by the media, so that the buck can be passed and the hard questions simply ignored and avoided by the main stream media. Barry exposes the duplicity of media coverage by using several recent case histories as examples.
3. The book, written in a journal style includes, short biographical information about key figures in the 9/11 truth investigations, as well as providing relevant illustrations and photographs giving this overall style of a cohesive dossier of intelligent evidence.


4. Titled `The Shame of Noam Chomsky and Gatekeepers of the Left', chapter 5 is a powerful exposé of the duplicity and lies of the Gate-keeping community. In it Barry Zwicker conducts analyses of the work published by Chomsky, exposing it as powerful propaganda aimed at stifling debate, argument and examination of evidence. The motive is simply to perpetuate the left-right political power-system and paradigm. In an analysis worthy of note, (particularly by any scholar of Linguistics and Philosophy) Barry Zwicker conducts an easy to understand textual analysis of Chomsky's opinions on 9/11 and the JFK assassination. He discovers that Chomsky is engaged in the very same use of propaganda and disinformation tactics that he is widely regarding as condemning and exposing. In a paradigm shifting chapter Barry Zwicker concludes that the so called intellectuals simply exist to perpetuate the left-right political system, of which they are an intricate party member.
Chapter 5 alone should make Barry Zwicker's book a widely read and referenced work. It is nothing more than a literary coup d'état exposing the shameful practices of Noam and his intellectual gatekeeping gang. It can be taken as granted that the right wing media will avoid any review of the material presented by Barry Zwicker, but when the left wing media ignore it also - this should make this book compulsory reading and an immediate best seller.

Barrie Zwicker's carefully researched masterpiece is an eye opener for open-minded people with compassionate hearts and bright reasoning that haven't yet searched for the truth about 9/11. Barrie Zwicker provides convincing evidence that beyond any reasonable doubt the truth about 9/11 is that we don't KNOW the truth about 9/11 and that the mainstream media as well as "the left" seem to be suffering from blind spots and therefore have terribly failed to deeply question the official story about 9/11. And Barrie Zwicker is definitively right to suggest that it is high time to ASK elementary questions about the many anomalies in the official story, since the American people and the families of those who died on 9/11 deserve the truth that we do not yet know. Therefore it is undeniable that only a truly independent investigation of 9/11 can provide an indisputable answer to the crucial question if there was a wider conspiracy (- if this is the case, those responsible for 9/11 should be indicted for treason and complicity in mass murder and those who covered up these crimes should themselves be indicted as accessories after the fact. On the other hand, if a genuine investigation finds that the government's current story is essentially correct it would be imperative to assign responsibility for the inconceivable failure of the air defenses to protect the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, since so far nobody of the allegedly "incompetent" persons has been fired or demoted or court martialed - shouldn't there be any accountability when such an alleged "defense-failure" occurs?).

Read "Towers of Deception" and judge for yourself if a genuine investigation is necessary as more and more people believe... and if you like "Towers of Deception", please do what I did: buy two more copies and give them as gifts - even to family members or friends who usually don't read - they'll at least watch the enlightening DVD (and maybe start reading, searching on the net, think for themselves)... and don't forget to tell them to continue the chain reaction!

PS: maybe before buying "Towers of Deception" read first Paul Craig Roberts' brilliant essay "Is American Democracy Too Feeble To Deal With 9/11?" (concerning the question if a genuine investigation or sincere national debate is to be expected in the U.S.).

This is another excellent book about the 9/11 massacre.
After reading it, it is extremely difficult not to believe that it was an Inside Job (MIHOP).

Because, cui bono? 9/11 was fabulously profitable, not only for put option writers with their stunning foreknowledge, but in the long run for the merchants of death, the arms industry.

If it was an inside job, then 9/11 (as was the murder of JFK) is a clear indication that the US is ruled by a parallel invisible government. For the author the heart of this invisible government is the CIA.
9/11 would then be a false-flag operation, as there have been so many before, but a particular brutal one. It was a pretext for war (Iraq, Afghanistan) and for a drastic reduction of civil liberties (Patriot Act).

This book also exposes the criminal silence of the media, which are held in a stranglehold by the military, industrial and intelligence communities. As ex-CIA chief W. Colby said: `the CIA owns everyone of any major significance in the major media.'

This book contains a remarkable DVD, excellent historical information, e.g. the fascist Butler conspiracy in the 1930s, and presents in depth portraits of courageous researchers of the truth.

A must read for all those interested in the future of mankind.

It continues to amaze me that so many people in the US remain, or choose to remain in ignorance about the obvious inside job that was September 11, 2001. The problem is very complex and quite psychological as 9-11 was deeply disturbing to each of us individually and collectively as a nation. Ever since 9-11, the media has acted as accessories after the fact in that they have blacked out almost all honest and productive discussion of the facts and promoted the wackiest conspiracy theory in US history, that of "patsie" Osama bin Laden being responsible for 9-11.

Barrie Zwicker's new book Towers of Deception is truly the Magnum Opus on the subject of media coverage of 9-11 truth / untruth. Mr. Zwicker has been a media critic for over 35 years, and his insightful writings and investigation into the events of 9-11 cast the brightest possible light on what is often the central question blocking a person's entry into the subject of 9-11 truth: "If 9-11 really was an inside job, the media would be all over this and by now we would all know the truth. I won't waste my time reading about it unless the media breaks the story."

Well, truth-seeker, I've read eight books on the events of 9-11 and attended two conferences of the 9-11 Truth Movement, and I have discovered just who the relevant media IS regarding 9-11. It is the independent investigative journalists, physicists, engineers and usually former political leaders from around the world who dare to risk their reputations by writing the truth of this most important issue. I have heard Barrie Zwicker speak and present his findings several times and I obtained one of his DVDs "The Great Conspiracy: The 9-11 News Special You Never Saw" shortly after its release in 2004. I have found Barrie's brilliance on the subject of 9-11 second only to his heart-felt patriotism and sincerity. There is no wildly sensational conjecture in this book. Every single word pays for itself, and the DVD which is included is a perfect tool for reaching others less inclined to read a fascinating book (pity them!).

The chapter that changed me the most was on Noam Chomsky as a left-wing gatekeeper, and I believe this to be some of Zwicker's greatest contribution. Like the author, I have been a fan of Chomsky for many years, indeed lost my political innocense reading him. But I was always confused about why he would go to bat for the Warren Commission and say that Oswald obviously commited the crime alone, when even the House Select Committee on Assassinations found that there was a conspiracy to kill JFK, aside from the lunacy of the "single bullet theory" (thank you Arlen Specter - NOT!) And then after 9-11 when Chomsky's little 9-11 book came out, I started eating in big gulps wanting to know the truth and ended up with a bad case of indigestion by the end. He had only re-hashed typical US foreign policy tragedies and spoke of 9-11 as blowback, we finally reaped what we had sown - how neat and tidy. And to date Chomsky has refused to comment on the facts uncovered by the 9-11 Truth Movement, if he has even looked sincerely into them. He has contributed mightily, but I have taken him forever off of the pedestal and consigned him to the trashbin as a "leftwing gatekeeper". Chomsky has even threatened the left not to get into the area of 9-11 "conspiracy theories" because it would kill the left's chances for success. This threat is also an insult to the intelligence of the members of the left, as if they are incapable of studying ANY issue and deciding for themselves.

The term "leftwing gatekeeper" may sound a bit esoteric, or even cutesy, but it is very descriptive of this mechanism of the control of ideas and information, and as we learn more about 9-11 truth and what the tried and true commentators of the political left are saying, this term will come to be better understood and accepted. Towers of Deception helps immensely.

One of the author's most consistent points throughout is that the events of 9-11 are the mother issue of our day, or as he says "the linchpin" to understanding and exposing the wicked agenda of the "high cabal", to use Churchill's phrase. We will never alter the mainstream malaise with the ever-mesmerizing political status quo of dems vs. republicans, our team vs. theirs, until we come to grips with how and why 9-11 happened, and who-dunnit.

Finally, if you understand that 9-11 was an inside job, but are near suicidal because others just don't "get it" yet, Towers of Deception will help to heal your mind. If the light has not come on for you yet, but you are truly open minded, you should read David Ray Griffin's THE NEW PEARL HARBOR and TOWERS OF DECEPTION, and then you will know. You will see the world in a very different light and all of this oil-related war news will begin to be understandable. Then you can help make the difference. Solid praise for TOWERS OF DECEPTION!

The material presented in the book is based on factual information and indisputable evidence. It is presented in a logical and sequential manner.
The author has accumulated convincing evidence which proves beyond the shadow of a doubt the fact that 9/11 was the job of insiders.

My compliments to Mr. Zwicker for presenting an excellent work.

One of the leading arguments that proponents of the official conspiracy theory endorse is that if the propositions held by groups such as the 9/11 Truth Movement had any validity whatsoever, the media would certainly jump on the story. Zwicker's methodical dissection of this myth is total. I have read many 9/11 related books since learning the awful truth in May of 2008, and this is one the best.

"We needed one then. We need one now. It's time."

What do we need? The sanctimonious voice in the radio advertisement claims we need a memorial to the victims of 9/11 to be paid for by ordinary citizens. I think it should be paid for by the corporate and political interests who were behind the so-called "terrorist attacks." If ordinary citizens are to dip into their pockets, it should be to pay for an independent investigation that would bring the truth of the government's complicity to light.

The truth is well-documented in several books, including Barrie Zwicker's "Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11." Its primary focus is on the role that mainstream media has played in pulling the wool over our eyes and perpetuating the myth that the government was simply unprepared to prevent the attacks. The official story is full of holes and all too obvious contradictions, yet the media and a majority of the general public accept it.

Zwicker convincingly argues that 9/11 was a "false-flag operation," and that such operations are as old as politics itself. A false-flag operation is "a contrived, staged event, usually shocking, planned by its actual perpetrators to appear to have been done by others." Such operations are used to justify wars, the staging of coups, and the suspension of civil liberties.

9/11 was a false-flag operation, and Zwicker convincingly argues that the same is true of the "terrorist attacks" that followed overseas, including the Madrid Train bombings and the Beslan School Massacre of 2004, and the London bombings of July 7, 2005. As was the case with 9/11, contradictions abound in the government's official stories of these events, and the "evidence" is just as questionable (passports, etc, identifying the "terrorists," always miraculously survive the bombings to implicate someone other than the true culprits). These deceptive staged events are business as usual for our leaders, both foreign and domestic, and Zwicker fills us in on some false-flag operations from the past, along with their disastrous consequences.

Although a third of the American people now suspect that the American government was somehow involved in 9/11 (and the figures are considerably higher overseas), that still means two-thirds have swallowed the tale told by the 9/11 Commission, preposterous though it is.

Why?

Zwicker quotes E. Martin Schotz, a Boston psychologist and playwright, on the effect that 9/11 had on the masses:

"It is important to understand that one of the primary means of immobilizing the American people politically today is to hold them in a state of confusion in which anything can be believed but nothing can be known, nothing of significance, that is. And the American people are more willing to be held in this state because to 'know' the truth - as opposed to only 'believe' the truth - is to face an awful terror and to be no longer able to evade responsibility. It is precisely in moving from belief to knowledge that the citizen moves from irresponsibility to responsibility, from helplessness and hopelessness to action, with the ultimate aim of being empowered and confident in one's rational powers."

Zwicker brilliantly exposes the Invisible Government's disinformation campaigns, using puppets across the political spectrum all trained to ridicule "conspiracy theory," except, of course, the conspiracy theory at the heart of the "official" government sanctioned report. Zwicker offers a lenghty critique of Noam Chomsky, a guru of leftist thinking whom the author admits he once revered. "My admiration knew almost no bounds," Zwicker writes. "I have a stack of his books more than a foot high." Zwicker now sees Chomsky as a "gatekeeper" for the Invisible Government, an almost saintly figure on the left who speaks mostly truth, but stops short of speaking the whole truth and nothing but, because, as Zwicker says, "the most powerful disinformation is 90 percent true."

Who is the enemy? Read this book. Read David Ray Griffin's "The New Pearl Harbor." Visit the web sites of the 9/11 Truth Movement. In short, wake up before it's too late.

I can't say enough good things about Barrie Zwicker's book. It is filled with wisdom pieces throughout. Barrie takes on the challenge of why people aren't accepting that 9/11 was an inside job and even devotes a whole chapter to a former hero of his, Noam Chomsky, selling out. I might also add Amy Goodman's name to that list. I couldn't put the book down. After reading 150 pages in my first sitting, I was compelled to write to Barrie letting him know how much I appreciated his book. Upon further reading I was not disappointed. That is an understatement for this very important book.
