On the Town is one of the most outstanding recordings for brass quintet released in a very long time. The musicianship is amazing and the arrangements work incredibly well for this instrumental setting. The Center City Brass have made three recordings to date and they get better with each release. This brass quintet sets the standard for all brass quintets and ranks among the best (Empire Brass and Canadian Brass) as far as musicianship and virtuosity. As far as the music goes, most of these arrangements are presented for the first time in a brass quintet setting and whether a fan of brass music or just a fan of Bernstein, Gershwin, etc. you will find this recording musically satisfying. I highly recommend this CD to anyone searching for an enjoyable and impressive listening experience.

America's finest music, performed by America's best... I can honestly say that this is WORLD-CLASS. The arrangements are beautiful, and the musicians, both techinally and musically, are absolutely marvelous. I've heard these guys live and I certainly believe that they are the best.
