This self-help book has helped numerous personal friends through the healing process of growing up with parents who were toxic to their well-being. It speaks to the patterns of parenting that create insecurities, addiction, and problems in adult relationships. It also gives guided exercises for the reader to use and apply to help in their own healing process. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for creating a healthier emotional state, as well as for professionals who works with a population that have trauma, abuse, or addiction in their family of origin.
