4.0 out of 5 stars This is a safer Buzz Lightyear
The Buzz Lightyear with wings is DANGEROUS. The wings constantly break off, which is annoying, and it is very hard for the little ones to put back on. As a matter of fact, my youngest was bringing that Buzz to us to fix, tripped, fell and ripped his tooth out with the broken wing.

With this blue Buzz there are no pieces that constantly break off, the LGM...

2.0 out of 5 stars Why did they make it the WRONG COLOR?
Buzz is white and green. Unfortunately this version is BLUE...
Furthermore: the old version of this toys had retractible wings, this one has a sad backpack... A cheapo version of a favorite hero.

With this blue Buzz there are no pieces that constantly break off, the LGM is super cute (my boys call him Wheezy) and I am not worried that they are going to get hurt...well of course unless they use it to hit each other with, ouch! But I don't worry about something breaking off and hurting them.

It's a good solid toy, and different than the other Buzz's which is a plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable and Fun, March 30, 2006

We picked this up for my 3 year old son because it seemed like the closest we could find to the real Buzz in the movie (in size, features). My son has dragged, dropped, thrown this Buzz around and he's still like new. His favorite feature is the laser, but he does like playing "rescue" with the back pack and "LGM" (little green man).

My 6 year old has 4 of this size Buzz and he loves them all. Yes, it is a different color than the movie Buzz but my son was happy to have a different kind of Buzz. He loves the little green man and the new phrases Buzz says.
All in all at this new low price it is a great deal and a quality toy (ours has been thrown "flying", fought Batman and gone on a long 8 hour flight and is still in top shape)

4.0 out of 5 stars The Real Buzz?, June 7, 2005

My wife and I got this on sale (under $10) for our daughter, a big Toy Story fan. If you can get over the fact that Buzz is blue and grey in this version (instead of the white and bright green uniform he has in Toy Story 1 and 2), there are several key selling points: (1) Seems to be a durable toy (dropped once and still OK), (2) Talks when you press its chest buttons (limited to just 5 messages related to a "rescue" of an LGM -- Little Green Man -- using the included "rescue pack"), (3) emits a laser like sound and flashing red light when you press its arm button just like the "real Buzz", and (4) an LGM, which is small enough for a little one to hold, and squeaks when squeezed. The LGM is (I think) the deal clincher! This is not an educational toy, but one for acting out scenes (using one's imagination)....

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the complainers..., June 20, 2005

Ok, you KNEW the toy was blue when ya bought it, why are you complaining? It has cool buttons that make Buzz talk, and the box explains that this is his special space suit that he uses to rescue aliens. He does have wings and the backpack is for the alien he's rescuing. There's a cool lever to lift the alien in a baggy up into the backpack. My five year old has this toy and he LOVES it. You can't find a better spark for the imagination at this price!

This Buzz Toy is pretty good. My son likes it but did not care for the back pack part. He does not like that legs do not let the Buzz sit down.
