Product Description

Platform: PC

The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring movie goers back to the delightful world of our favorite gang of toy characters in “Toy Story 3”. As Andy prepares to depart for college, Buzz, Woody and the rest of his loyal toys are troubled about their uncertain future. Directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”), “Toy Story 3” is a comical new adventure in Disney Digital 3D that lands the toys in a room full of untamed tots who can’t wait to get their sticky little fingers on these “new” toys. It’s pandemonium as they try to stay together, ensuring “no toy gets left behind.” Pixar veteran Darla K. Anderson ("Cars" and "Monsters, Inc.") produces, while Michael Arndt, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of "Little Miss Sunshine," brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities. In the Toy Story 3: The Video Game help Buzz, Woody and the rest of the Toys ensure no toy gets left behind. Dive into to all new heroic adventures in Story Mode or let your imagination run wild in the exiting new open world of Toy Box Mode! Come and play to infinity…and beyond.

I was initially thrilled with this game when I tried it out. It's a great game for young gamers and beginners. It's very friendly in that way. However I've learned that the versions of this game for the PS3 & Xbox 360 have ten times more content compaired to the PC version. This is most noticable in Toy Box Mode where your options are greatly limited and the amount of availible space in which to roam is much smaller. It's still fun but once all of the quests have been done, there really isn't anything much else to do. Your limits on customization of the buildings and townsfolk are also limited to collecting complete sets instead of collecting the individual items. For example, when you customize one townsperson with a particular outfit, ALL the townspeople get that outfit. Same with the buildings. One building customized, they're all customized in the matching set. Again, this game is fun at first but once you've played through story mode about a dozen times and done all of the quests in Toy Box mode as well as collected all of the gold stars (a bunch of in game achivements akin to the Xbox 360 achievements) then there's really nothing more to do. I have to give the game a gold star for one thing that I personally consider an answer to the fans. They finally gave us the opportunity to experience the Buzz Lightyear Game from the opening of Toy Story 2, something that I've always wanted to be able to do since seeing it for the first time.

This game is fun, but has slight differences from the PS3 version(which I also own.) For example, you don't toss townspeople into buildings to customize them. Customization isn't as deep either. Instead of applying individual pieces, you apply sets. You can only drive cars in the stunt parks too.

I have been watching "Let's Plays" of Toy Box mode on Youtube, and was excited about the various customization options it had for the people, aliens, and buildings. What I didn't realize is that the PC version massively cut most of those options out of the game.

You can't customize the individual parts of the any of them, and if you give a townsfolk some clothing ALL townsfolk wear the exact same clothing.

The entire reason I purchased the game was for nothing. I really got screwed on that, I guess I should have done some research. I never figured the PC version, of all versions, would be THAT downgraded though.

It's a fun game for my children but I don't like the fact that the game requires the disc to play the game. I made a copy of the disc because I feared the disc would be scratched but the built-in copy protection won't allow the game to start with the backup copy.

This is a confusing game for kids and there is nothing educational at all! We use it as a computer game and although the kids have fun playing it, they always need help trying to navigate it and it really is just mindless entertainment. I try to limit their use of it because there is nothing about it that actually makes them think. I bought Dora for them also, much better in terms of fun and learning.

The game is awesome, it features scenes from all the 3 movies. My only complain is about the option for "invert axis" that does not work for movement, only for camera view (it really messes the gameplay in some levels).
