Editorial Reviews

Sir Dupermann (Jorgen Traeen) & Alisdair Stirling follow up their self-titled debut, with this mini-album. Toy showcases the new track: "Welcome to Cedars Lodge" as well as a wonderful remix of the same track by Sean O'Hagen (HIGH LLAMAS). The album also contains four live tracks performed in Norway in 2006 using 11 different organs with guests BJORN TORSKE & John Hegre (JAZKAMER). "Like Royksopp's 'Poor Leno'- cold, lonely pop, bedroom danceparty shit" -Pitchfork --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars wonderful creative album, September 11, 2011

this is an amazing composition. most of the songs move into each other and flow.

there's a bunch of videos i found online where you could see the people performing live sessions of the music.

playing this through a good system is really amazing, and it's very interesting music. it's mostly adorable cute kiddy sounding music.

i wouldn't really recommend it to people who aren't into really quirky music.

5.0 out of 5 stars looney toon extravaganza, January 10, 2007
This review is from: Toy (Audio CD)
Toy, often compared to Royksopp, in this cd has created a fun and engaging sounscape reminiscent of the medley of tunes from old warner bros. cartoons --- enjoyable for young and mature listeners --- a delightful concept album. Additionally the package art compliments the music in every colorful and gleeful way.....
A must for electronic music aficionados.
