Product Description

Editorial Review

Bells and whistles abound in this deluxe space station for Buzz Lightyear, included here as a 3-inch-tall action figure (with that ever-present devilish grin). At the command center is a television screen that lights up with the Star Command logo and emits electronic audio missions. A break-through trap door sits atop a removable containment unit to capture unsuspecting enemies like Zurg, not included. The slideable elevator platform brings Buzz up to the top level, where he can man the missile launcher (which has one missile) or redirect the radar dish. A docking station serves as the launching pan for Buzz's space skiff and his journeys to infinity and beyond. The containment unit attaches to the back of the skiff for prisoner transport. This toy requires three AA batteries, not included. --Andy Boynton

My 5 year old son bought this toy with his birthday money. He loves Toy Story and was eager to have it. Based on the commercials he saw on TV, he expected to be able to use Buzz to imprison Zurg in the headquarters. Unfortunately, despite the prominent place Zurg has in the ads (and the fact that his picture appears on the toy box SIX times!), Zurg is not included. There is microscopic print advising as much on the box, which we didn't detect. Hasbro advises that they haved ceased manufacturing Zurg, so he's unavailable. My son is very disappointed, as am I. We feel duped on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!, May 7, 2005

My 4-year old boy is just about Buzz Lightyear's biggest fan. He loves all of his Buzz toys, and when this product came out around Christmas it was just about all that he asked for. But after opening it, sure he tried to play with it for a couple of days, but it kept falling apart, and without Zurg the whole thing isn't much fun. Also, on the commercial's, they made it look like this toy was going to be huge, about the size of a 4-year old kid, so I cleared out a place in my boy's room and everything....after purchasing the toy and opening the box, it turns out to be about 8 inches tall. What a disappointment!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Comes apart very easily - not too impressed, December 29, 2004

My son loves all things Toy Story. He enjoys playing with the toy, however it comes apart very easily. The parts unsnap with average play. No, they are not broken, but we frequently pause our game to put it back together. Also, like other reviewers my son is disappointed that Zurg is not part of the command center esp. since some of the automated commands mention Zurg. And, esp. since we can not purchase Zurg locally.
