I thought that the section on dildos and vibrators was uninteresting, and was done much better in other books. The section with electrical play (Violet Wands and TENS units) was informative. Liquid Latex seemed to have potential applications. All in all, though, the total information is not worth almost $10. I would only pay half or a third of that if I had the chance to buy it again.

This booklet in the Toybag Guide series is a very brief introduction to some aspects of more highly technical sex toys. Like all the books in this series, it is not and exhaustive or comprehensive manual, but only a superficial introduction to the main aspects of each topic. One could probably find out most of this information by a careful search of the web.

That said, it is still a good introduction, and the information is solid and safe. For the absolute beginner, it would be very useful to begin one's investigation of these topics.

And what are these topics? Warren covers the high tech materials in sex toys, such as silicone, acrylic, "jelly" which is a form of PVC), and Pyrex or borosilicate glass. Since most Pyrex is no longer made with borosilicate, that composition is in question, unless it is specifically stated to be borosilicate by the manufacturer. Delrin and liquid Latex are also mentioned.

Other chapters discuss devices for penetration, bondage, vibrators, and electrical toys. The electrical toys in question are limited to Violet Wands and TENS units. The information on all these items is accurate although brief, and the section on electrical toys is welcome. There is precious little good information on e-stim and electrical play out there, and it can be dangerous for those who play without adequate information. Since sexual stimulation is an "off label" use for TENS, a medical device, there are probably legal complications for anyone who would share such information. You know how some people get about such things.

All in all, a useful, if too brief, introduction to these topics. I have most of this series on my bookshelves, and think they are well worth the price of a few lattes.
