I needed to track down an electrical problem in my Grandmother's Camry. Obviously this is limited to the electrical system and therefore I cannot be sure my experience is reflective of the entire book. However, my experience was that the care manual that comes with the car had just as much detail on the components locations and how to check and remove them as this books had. The only difference was a slightly more wordy approach in this book. Following the advice of another reviewer I called Toyota and ordered the official wiring book for this car and I was amazed at how much easier life became.

Don't waste money on this book!

I've used this manual fairly regularly, and for the most part I've been pretty pleased. However, in 1991 the Toyota Camry had at least two different 4 cylinder production models and only one was covered in Haynes. Unfortunately, mine wasn't the one. Nice try Haynes, but you need to be more comprehensive.

I have used this book for regular maintenance and scheduled tune ups. Not bad for that purpose.

I have also used it for Constant Velocity joint replacement, timing belt replacement, water pump replacement, and troubleshooting electrical problems. This book was not the best way to go about taking on these jobs.

My recommendation- spend the money and get the real thing from Toyota. You will spend a lot more, but the payback will be in all the time that you save.

The book is fine for nuts and bolts stuff, but it does not contain any technical specifications. How do you check an OHM rating if you don't know what the spec is? More detail Haynes! Plus it tells you what could be causing the problem, but not how to narrow it down.

I have found that the factory manual which I have is good for wiring and detail but the haynes has easier ways to do repairs as it is updated . There is a plus to having the Haynes is you can get up to date help on Haynes Forum if you own the book you can even call a 800 number if you need help finding a problem or repair.

We inherited an old '89 Toyota Camry, and I wouldn't dream of owning a car without the Haynes Repair Manual. Haynes is easy to understand and thorough.

This needs a lot of work, not very clear, lousy pictures, no clear instructions.... Has a lot of detail, but overall, not very useful.

Step by step instructions. This book even suggests the proper tools to use. Pick it up!

It was a gift for someone else -- I don't know anything about what is in it.
