I bought this for my 5 year-old nephew. He loved last years Pirates of the Carribean and couldn't wait to see Dead man's chest. He put on the gear immediately and had great fun with the accessories!

My son absolutely loves this costume set. He wears the bandana/hair all the time and frequently checks the compass. The compass pointers spin in a circle when you press a button on the side, so it looks like the irregular patterns on the movie.

He looks and feels like he's Jack Sparrow - maybe too much. He's started to take on the facial gestures and finger movements like Johnny Depp. I wish Johnny Depp cleaned his room and ate big meals in the movie.

If your child has ambitions t' rule t' seven seas, take no prisoners and outwit, outsmart and outplay all t' other pirates on t' block, then this set o' accessories be well worth its weight in gold.

The set is made up of a cloth headband with attached beads and dreadlocks; a plastic belt and buckle; a toy cutlass; a replica of Jack Sparrow's compass that actually spins; three rings; two temporary tattoos and a set of stickers that look like eyes. (The "Product Features" says it includes a pistol, but unfortunately it doesn't)

The quality is better than can normally be expected from a costume, and should give your little pirate quite a few hours of piratical pleasure.

1. The headband has Velcro closures at the back and can adjust to fit most head sizes, including my own.

2. The belt can also fit larger kids, but isn't sturdy enough to withstand a sword being drawn over and over again.

3. The cutlass will weather many a fierce battle

4. The compass and rings will probably last until they get lost

5. The tattoos and stickers are of course for one-time use only, so choose your occasion with care.

Recommended as accessories for a pirate costume, or just for hoisting the mizzenmast and raising the Jolly Roger before repelling the scurvy dogs. Arrrrh!


(Note: Not for smaller kids as there are parts that can come off and pose a choking hazard)
